The Alberta LibraryThe Alberta Library (TAL) was incorporated in 1997 and is governed by a Board of Directors. t is a not!for!profitlibrary consorti"# that grew o"t of the collective vision of all types of libraries across Alberta. Thro"gh TAL$ thelibrary #e#bership wor%s together on pro&ects to pro#ote and facilitate reso"rce sharing$ contin"ing ed"cationand training initiatives$ and library advocacy. -egotiates gro"p pricing for electronic databasesfor #e#ber libraries. This helps s#all and big libraries

ta%e advantage of reso"rces they #ay not otherwise have been able to afford for their co##"nities.

artners with provincial and federal govern#ent agencies to develop the Alberta Public Library
