Library Mission Statement
The mission of the District 41 Library Learning Center program is to facilitate opportunities that integrate information literacy skills into learning activities, while fostering a love of reading. The LLC program will continually support district and building goals as it delivers the highest quality library media programs and services to the learning community.

This Pre-K through 5 elementary school was founded in 1923 in a temporary building. The building with library was completed in 1929.
The new library was built in 1998 as part of a school building addition.

About the Collectionat Ben Franklin LLC
The library holds approximately 14,000 items.
Formats collected include books, periodicals, audio books, big books and soft
subscriptions.
The District provides the Franklin LLC with online
resources. Can be accessed off site by students.
Major project growth is not foreseen and this budget is
stable.
Spending is divided among print items, equipment and
non-print subscriptions.

National policies The School Board subscribes in principle to the statements of policy on library philosophy as expressed in the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights and Access to Resources and Services in the School Library Media Program, (An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights,) copies of which are appended to and made part of this policy.
