AUTHORIZED DISTRIBUTORS

All Truth Hardware products, with the exception ofelectrical products*, are warranted against defects inmaterials and workmanship for the life of the product.Industry related testing has defined the typical lifetimeof fenestration hardware to be 10 years.

Truth Hardware’s warranty is expressly limited to window& door manufacturers and Truth Hardware AuthorizedDistributors, who purchase Truth Hardware products forthe purpose of resale, or use in the ordinary course ofthe buyers business, and may not be assigned ortransferred.

This warranty does not cover normal wear ordiscoloration on finishes, or any product which hasbeen improperly installed, abused, misused, worn out,altered, used for a purpose other than that for which itwas intended, or in a manner inconsistent with anyinstructions regarding its use, nor does it cover corrosionrelated damage. This warranty only covers electricalproducts that are used to drive manual hardwaresystems (operators and hinges) manufactured by Truth.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE. TRUTH HARDWAREMAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY OF ANY KIND WHAT-SOEVER, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECTTO THE PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED AND SOLD BYIT, WHETHER AS TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESSFOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ANY OTHERMATTER. If any product manufactured by Truth Hardware isfound to be defective by Truth Hardware, in its solejudgment, Truth Hardware will, at its option, either repairor replace such defective product. The purpose of this exclusive remedy shall be to providethe window/door manufacturer, or Truth HardwareAuthorized Distributor, with replacement of products, or parts, manufactured by Truth Hardware found to be

defective in materials or workmanship, or negligentlymanufactured. This exclusive remedy shall not bedeemed to have failed of its essential purpose so long asTruth Hardware is willing and able to repair or replacesaid defective products or parts in the prescribed manner.

* All Truth Hardware electrical products, are warranted for one (1)year against defects in materials and workmanship.

1%/10 days - net 30 days on hardware purchases. Net30 days on freight charges. Tooling invoice termsavailable upon request.

Conditions -

Initial orders, and all subsequent orders placed beforecredit is established with Truth Hardware, will be on acash-in-advance or C.O.D. basis. Cash-in-advanceorders will be entered by Truth Hardware upon thereceipt of the order and payment. Pricing is determinedat time of shipment.

Return Goods -

Authorization from our Sales Department is required in advance for all goods to be returned to TruthHardware. Authorization will be granted in all cases of defective product or incorrect shipments due to anerror on Truth Hardwareís part. Truth Hardware mayalso, at its option, authorize the return of other goodssubject to a 25% restocking charge and including and offsetting order equal in value to the amount of the return. Product considered for return must bestandard product, built to current Truth Hardwaremanufacturing specifications, no older than theimmediate past calendar year, clean, resalable, in full unopened cartons. The quantity to be returnedcannot be excessive based on Truth Hardware’s current level of sales and inventory position. Freight on all return goods must be prepaid to our plant andmerchandise must be received within 30 days of date of authorization.

Truth Hardware’s new 700 Series Locksare by far the most exciting aestheticchanges that have hit the checkrailmarketplace in years. There are fournew designs within the 700 Seriesfamily of locks - each with its owndistinct appearance. However, as uniqueas they each are to the eye, the similaritiesin quality features that the 700 Serieshave as a whole make these productsthe “first family” of check rail locks.

FORGIVING CAM:

The forgiving cam is likely the mostvaluable feature that the windowmanufacturers will realize. Thispatented new innovative design helpsto insure proper engagement betweenthe lock and keeper even on assemblieswhere these two components may bemisaligned. The benefits of thisforgiving cam can help to reduce fieldservice calls down the road.

The pick-resistant design of theselocks helps you exceed forced entryrequirements.

POSITIVE SECURE ACTION:

An improved detent in both the lockingand unlocking motion of the handle,assures the homeowner that the camhas completed its travel.

TIGHTER SEAL:

By pulling meeting rails tightly togetherand by producing a better seal of thesash at the head and sill, the 700 SeriesLock decreases air infiltration. Theselocks produce a .105” (2.7mm) liftingability (Arc style lock has a .156”(4.0mm) lifting ability). And with theirnew slimmer handle design options,their low profile design helps assuremaximum egress opening. Aninnovative spring design holds thehandle in both the locked and unlockedpositions while a concealed lockingmechanism protects moving parts fromdust and dirt for added lock life.

INTERCHANGEABLE:

Designed for 2.062" (52.4mm) center-to-center hole spacing on both the lockand keepers, the 700 Series Locks areinterchangeable with existing designsmaking the move up to this new designvirtually seamless.

TRUTH TIPS:

1. When two locks are used on onewindow, the placement of each lock,with respect to its keeper, becomesvery critical to maintain a constantweatherseal on all sides of the windowand to insure that each lock engagesproperly with its keeper.

2. For accurate hardware placement invinyl or metal applications, pre-drillingof the window profile is recommended.

3. For vinyl window applications,mounting screws should pass throughtwo PVC walls, or one PVC wall andone insert wall. For this reason, it may

be necessary to use a longer screw thanis recommended.

4. For metal window profiles, Truthrecommends stainless steel machinescrews. However, in most applications,stainless steel sheet metal screws willprovide adequate holding power.

Window check rail locks shall beincluded which will increase bothsecurity and weather seal tightness.The lock must provide easy operationand positive locked feel (detent).

Window check rail locks will be ofinternal cam design to provide .062"(4.0 mm) of pull-in to aid in sealingthe meeting rails. The lock andaccompanying keeper will help insureproper engagement even on assemblieswhere these two components may bemisaligned. The lock and keeper shallbe constructed of high pressure zincalloy die castings.

Window locks shall be 700 SeriesLocks, as manufactured by TruthHardware.

The options available on TruthHardware’s 9200 Series Sash Locks are virtually endless.

• There are bases with or withoutalignment lugs which are helpful inpreventing side shift of the sash (See Truth Tip #1).

• There are various mounting holepatterns from which to choose,which will ensure that your hardwareis located in the most efficientlocation for optimum holding power(See Truth Tip #5).

• A variety of locking cams areavailable that help to pull meetingrails tightly together and willproduce a better seal of the sash atthe head and sill to help decrease airinfiltration. Another reason foroptional cam sizes is to help avoidpotential interference created whenthe cam extends out to far. Refer tothe following drawings to find theone which best meets yourrequirements.

• Based on window design, and thespace allowed for mounting thewindow hardware – some windowsystems are better suited fornarrower keepers, or even face-mounted varieties. The 9200 Serieshas a number of Top Mount, andFace Mount keepers to choose from.

And with its new slimmerhandle design, its low profile designhelps assure maximum egress opening.An innovative spring design holds thehandle in both the locked and unlockedpositions while a concealed lockingmechanism protects moving parts fromdust and dirt for added lock life, too.

For locks designed with alignmentlugs, a positive sash alignment featureprevents side shift of the sash. Animproved detent in both the lockingand unlocking motion of the handle,assures that the cam has completed itstravel. Designed for #6 mountingscrews on 2.062” (52.4mm) center-to-center hole spacing on both the lockand keepers. This lock produces a.125” (3.2mm) pull-in {.062” (1.6mm)with small cam} with a .156” (4.0mm)lifting ability.


The pick-resistant design of this lockhelps you exceed the load requirementsfor AAMA 1302.5 Forced EntryResistance Test, the California ModelBuilding Security Ordinance andASTM-588 Forced Entry Test.

TRUTH TIPS:

1. A lock with pick-resistant alignmentlugs should be used whenever possible.A lock without lugs should be chosenwhen the lugs cause interference withdivided light grills or other windowfeatures.

2. A lock with a small cam should beused when the larger sweep radius ofthe .125” (3.2mm) pull-in cam causesinterference with the glazing or otherareas of the profile. A face-mountedkeeper is usually required.








Window check rail locks will be ofinternal cam design to provide .125”(3.2mm) of pull-in to aid in sealing the meeting rails. The lock andaccompanying keeper will prevent mis-alignment during locking. Thelock and keeper shall be constructed ofhigh pressure zinc alloy die castings.

Window locks shall be 17 seriesTrimLine, as manufactured by TruthHardware, Owatonna, MN.

One of the most popular locking designsin the slider and single/double-hungmarkets, Truth Hardware’s 9400 SeriesSash Lock is one of the most reliableproducts available.

• Concealed locking mechanisms helpprotect moving parts from dust anddirt for added lock life whileproducing a better seal of the sash at the head and sill.

• The internal cam eliminatesunsightly paint abrasions caused bythe interaction of cam and keeper.

This double hung/slider lock has theability to retract the cam when thehandle motion is within approximately30 degrees of the open position. Thespring action of the handle and the camwill eliminate exposing the cam whenin the partially open position, thusavoiding interference with divided lightgrilles and/or crashing on the top rail.

These locks are available with orwithout alignment lugs. These lugshave been designed to help preventshifting of the rails during locking foran enhanced window seal. Spring actionholds handle in locked or unlockedposition to prevent damage to windows.


The pick-resistant design of this lockhelps you exceed the load requirementsfor AAMA 1302.5 Forced EntryResistance Test, the California ModelBuilding Security Ordinance andASTM-588 Forced Entry Test.

When the window’s design or thehome’s décor calls for that traditionaltouch, Truth’s Restoration Hardware isthe answer. Designed and crafted toreplicate the styling of windowhardware from an earlier era, Truth hasused today’s technology to create ahardware system that is both stylish and functional.

APPLICATION AND DESIGN:Truth’s Restoration Lock comesequipped with the traditional open camlook, and is fitted with a durable plasticinsert on the keeper to protect thesurface of the cam during lock-up andto aid in its smooth operation. Thisopen cam design also provides for asimple visual indicator that the systemis locked.

The traditional styling of the thumblever on the lock is ergonomicallysimple to operate. The spring backdesign snaps the cam into the lock orun-locked position which reduces thepotential for accidental marring ofgrilles.

With a lower profile than many otherlock and keeper configurations, Truth’sRestoration Lock system helps tominimize sight line interference.

Utilizing standard mounting holes (2-1/16") and setback (11/16") this lockand keeper are an easy retrofit toexisting lock applications therebyreducing any additional manufacturingset-ups.

Truth also offers a Restoration Sash Lift which has a traditional finger-pulllook, and encourages the lifting of thewindow from bottom thereby puttingless stress on the sash than wouldoccur from pushing on the top rail.See Truth’s Sash Lift section forfurther technical information.

Truth Hardware’s Positive Action Lock(PAL) Systems are some of the mostversatile and easy to operate lockingsystems in the marketplace today.Available in the original Push Buttondesign and new Slide Tab designs, theselock systems are simple to operate andprovide added security for both vinyl orwood windows. A simple movement of the locking tabor push of the button disengages thelock allowing the sash to move freely.When the window is closed the PALSystem automatically locks, securing thewindow without having to manipulatethe lock again. Certain models can be used with orwithout a keeper depending on thewindow’s design. Window profiles thatincorporate a notch in the meeting railmay not require a keeper to secure thewindow in the locked position resultingin decreased inventory costs to themanufacturer and infinite side-to-sideforgiveness in the locks’ application.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:Snap-on Cover: Available in the19.62/63 slide tab designs, this featureallows for more aesthetic coverpossibilities thus reducing material costsand allowing it to fit more applications. Easy Operation: Comfortable fingerpull (slide tab design) provides positivefeedback that the lock is fully retracted(slight “snap” felt). Appropriately named the Fusion™System, Truth Hardware has successfullymerged two separate pieces of windowhardware into one completelyrevolutionary system. Truth hasdesigned a system where the tilt latchesare hidden beneath the check rail and areactuated by the same lever as the lock.With just one hand, the homeownercan unlock the window and release thetilt latches. The Fusion system isloaded with features at a very affordableprice.

TRuTH’S FuSION IS ALL AbOuTvERSATILITYThe Fusion System is designed to giveyou choices. First, both tilt latches areactuated by a single lock/tilt latchmechanism. This mechanism can belocated anywhere on the check rail, so ifyou prefer to use more than one lock onthe rail, you have the option of adding amatching sash lock. With the Fusion system you won’t haveto stock complete locks in all yourdifferent color offerings. There is astandard base assembly that screws intoyour check rail. HARMONY SYSTEMBuilding on the popularity we receivedon our award-winning Fusion™System, Truth Hardware has nowembarked on the next generationcombination lock and tilt latch systemnamed, the Harmony™ System. Aptlynamed, as this system beautifullyintegrates the check rail lock and tiltlatch together in a manner which createsa new level of installation ease.

INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGYThe Harmony System has been designedto allow the homeowner to activate thelock and tilt latches with the samedevice. By simply manipulating thelever on one lock, an individual canboth lock or unlock their window, andactivate the tilt latches to pivot the sashto allow for ease of cleaning.Manufacturers will appreciate the ease ofinstallation - you just snap in the tiltlatch, screw down the lock and you aregood to go. The Harmony system evenself-locates for you!

TILT LATCHES OFFERED INTWO VERSIONS – The StandardHarmony Latch and the newHarmony 7 Latch.

The Standard Harmony latch versionshould be considered when there is anexisting reinforcement surface formounting or if the internalreinforcement can be modified. If this isnot the case, then the Harmony 7 Latchversion is the better choice.

Truth Sash Lifts help provide easyopening and closing of all double-hungor sliding windows. Truth’s new#18.16 Series Restoration Sash Liftwith its traditional finger-pull look, isdesigned to complement Truth’s #17.02Series Restoration Lock. Truth’s SashLifts encourage the lifting of thewindow from the bottom, therebyputting less stress on the sash thanwould occur from pushing on the toprail. Durable baked enamel finishes areavailable to match Truth Check RailLocks.



FINISH: Electrostatically applied,durable coatings that provide excellentresistance to chipping, scratching andcorrosion while maintaining colorstability for years in direct sunlight.Please refer to Truth’s Color Chart forexamples of Truth’s most popularfinish options. Truth also offers awide range of decorative “plated”finishes – contact Truth for additionalinformation on availability of thesefinishes on specific product lines.

RECOMMENDED SCREWS:

Types of screws required determined bymaterial of profile used (soldseparately). For additional informationregarding screw selection - see TruthTips.

TRUTH TIPS: 1. For accurate hardware placement invinyl or metal applications, pre-drillingof the window profile is recommended. 2. For vinyl window applications,mounting screws should pass throughtwo PVC walls, or one PVC wall andone insert wall. For this reason, itmay be necessary to use a longer screwthan is recommended.3. For metal window profiles, Truthrecommends stainless steel machinescrews. However, in mostapplications, stainless steel sheet metalscrews will provide adequate holdingpower.

INCLUDE TRUTH SPECS ONYOUR NEXT WINDOW PROJECTWindow sash handles shall be includedwhich will provide a positive grip onthe sash for easy window operation,while having a low profile appearance.The sash handles shall be constructedof a high pressure zinc alloy diecasting.

Window handles/sash lifts shall bemanufactured by Truth Hardware.
