YOU ARE ENOUGH
You Are EnoughBy Heather Spears Kallus
(Adapted)
God needs us. This I know.
He has ground to till and seeds to sow.
His knock on your door may be gentle or loud.
You’ll hear it alone or when you’re in a crowd.
Can you be the one to help God out?
Be available. That’s what it’s about.
Do you question your gifts, your talents, and more?
Be open to see what God has in store.
On this earth, we’re His feet and hands.
We are clay in His care, ready to mold.
He needs the young, middle-aged, and old.
You’re enough. I’m enough.
Catechists and assistants are still needed for
Grades 7/8 on Thursdays
4:00pm – 5:30pm and 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Please consider this important ministry!
God is calling each one of us in a very special way.
Thank you, in advance, for your YES to His call.

Formation and in particular Grade 7/8,

BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN
The Laudato Si’ Ministry is currently hosting the Annual
SJN Baby Bottle Campaign until June 16. Bottles that
need to be !lled with change will be available
in the Gathering Space. You can drop off bottles
with our Laudato Si’ members or in the Parish
Of!ce during business hours. Your donations
will help the Women’s Resource Medical Center
of Southern Nevada who helps save the lives of
unborn children. God bless you and thank you for
your support!
PLEASE—
NO CLOTHING OR ITEM DONATIONS AT THIS TIME
St. John Neumann is blessed by our incredibly
generous parishioners. We could not do what we do
without your support!
There are some things, however, that we would ask
you to please NOT donate. Due to health regulations
in order to run our Food Pantry, we cannot accept
donations that are not food items.
Recently we’ve been getting clothing, furniture,
appliances and household items left at the church. We
no longer have any charitable organizations picking up
these items and no place to store them.
Though we appreciate your thinking of us, please
donate your non-food items to charities around the
valley that are actively seeking them. Thank you!
Some recommendations are:

2. Las Vegas Rescue Mission: 702-932-8170

participate in. They spend many hours rehearsing for
each liturgy, and countless more hours when preparing
for special feasts. As with anything else, it takes money
to purchase sheet music, copyrights, and other supplies.
Please be as generous as possible in next week’s collection..

O loving and merciful God, we give you thanks for all the gifts
you have generously placed in our care.
We remember, O God our Father, that you call us to share
those blessings so that our parish community may continue to grow in your love.
We celebrate the gift of your Son’s abiding presence in the Eucharist, who nourishes us to live in your love and share it with others.
We believe that your Holy Spirit will lead us in times when we must let go so that your will may be done.
With Faith in our Future we pray that our joyful giving
care for us.
We entrust our prayer through the intercession of Mary, the Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God, and Joseph the Carpenter, her faithful and loving husband, as we pray in the name of Jesus Christ who leads us to be Welcoming, Transformed and Generous.
Amen.

ATTENTION ALL 2019 HIGH SCHOOL
AND COLLEGE GRADUATES
“I give you a new
commandment: love
one another.” With
these words, Jesus
sums up the law and
the prophets in one
concise phrase. Love
one another. After 2,000 years, you’d think we’d have it !gured out
by now! But all too often we fail in this commandment. Perhaps
we mistake “love” for mere “common decency.” Perhaps we’ve
been betrayed, or our own visions of love have been tarnished
or misrepresented in our lives. Blessedly, Jesus doesn’t leave us
without a guide.
“As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” Jesus
himself modeled what this love should look like. So what are
some of the characteristics of the love of Christ? Humility, for
one. St. Paul writes that Jesus “emptied Himself.” In becoming
man, Jesus puts aside the full splendor of the Godhead. Not only
does he become human, but he takes on many of the mundane
privations of human life. He spent most of his life in relative
poverty - especially by our standards - as a common laborer.
When he began gaining popularity as a preacher, he still traveled
on foot and spent nights in other people’s homes or outdoors.
Jesus’ love is generous. He was always available to the crowds
and to being interrupted by people in need. He invested time
in his disciples and patiently taught them about the kingdom of
God. The love of Jesus is also courageous. He encountered many
people deemed less worthy of human respect, due to being
public sinners or having a physical or mental disability. Jesus
was brave in breaking these social boundaries to show care and
concern to the outcast. These traits are possible for us to imitate!
Indeed, we are hardly identi!able as Christians without them.
“This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have
love for one another.”
