Psychological and Social Reparation: Victims often suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and Suicide

Access to justice: Most of the victims said they were not in a position to seek justice through the legal system.
3.CYI-WHO WE ARE
CYI started in 2000 with 5 Congolese that is dedicated to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the Kivu.

In 2003 it became an OFFICIAL ORGANIZATION and helped 5 victims of social violence.

Many CHALLENGES were faced by CYI such as volcanic eruptions, insecurities in the region, and loss in staff.

In 2004 CYI started working with grassroots- organizations and social movements, in order to find solutions to injustice and poverty against WOMEN & CHILDREN
3.CYI-OBJECTIVES
CYI seeks to advance the STATUS of women and children in DRC, as well as to promote HUMAN RIGHTS and SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT in the DRC.
3.CYI-WHAT HAVE WE DONE?
Shelter: Over the years, more than 5,000 women have received treatments and shelters through CYI’s facilities

Food & Used Clothes Distribution: The organization has been a key emergency food distributor; reaching tens of thousands of people in Eastern DRC.
3.CYI-WHAT HAVE WE DONE?
School: CYI constructed a primary school, enabling 600 students to receive basic primary education

Hospital : CYI built a hospital to offer medical care to local residents at little or no cost.
3.CYI-WHAT HAVE WE DONE?
Micro-Finance: 305 women got loans from CYI.We also arrange workshops, conferences and other events on women issues
