General information
• All of the indoor ONT’s use the Broadlight 234x chipset
– 2345 has no voice DSP
– 2348 has integrated voice DSP supporting up to 4 calls.
• Separate binaries for different voice protocol stacks
– SIP
– H.248
• Not all models use the same power supply. Be sure the power supply matches the ONT model. The power requirements range from 1.0A to 2.0A for the indoor residential and small business models.

Serial Numbers
• There are two important serial numbers on these products.
– The product serial number is what Zhone uses to track the product.
– The PON serial number, or FSAN serial number, is what the OLT will see when the ONT ranges.
• Zhone tracks both serial numbers. The product serial number should be used for RMA’s.

OMCI
• The 25XX ONT series are configured using Operation, Management, and Control Interface (OMCI) which is defined in ITU-T G.983 and G.984.
– The MXK OLT sends configuration down to the ONU
– ONU do not store configuration information. Every boot requires configuration from the OLT
– OMCI only works between OLT and ONU. Does not work over multiple hops.
– OMCI is bidirectional. The ONU reports alarms and statistics to the OLT using OMCI.
• The Management Entity (ME) in OMCI is similar to a MIB in SNMP.
• Zhone calls the file loaded into the MXK the “ME” file because it is made up of our variables and many ME’s.

Reg Id
• Ativacao do Reg. ID na ONT
• Conectar o cabo de forca para energizar a ONT.
• Desconectar a interface PON se estiver conectada, conectar um aparelho telefonico na primeira porta POTS da ONT.
• Pressionar o botao de reset da ONT por 5 segundos.
• Esperar ate que o LED POTS da ONT comece a piscar ( 0.7 segundos ligado, e 0.7 segundos desligado).
• Retire o monofone do telefone para fora do gancho.
• Ativar o tom de discar executando as seguintes funcoes:
• * Para ASCII SLID/Password, discar "*0":
• * Para Hexadecimal SLID/Password, discar "*1":
• Esses numeros podem ser modificados em um outro firmware.
• Depois do tom de discar, disque o valor SLID executando um dos seguintes passos:
• * Para ASCII - SLID/Password, discar duas vezes a SLID/Password, suporta ate 10 digitos com "#" finalizando em cada vez. As duas passwords (senhas) dever ser a mesma. Somente digitos de 0 a 9 sao aceitos.
• * Para Hexadecimal, discar duas vezes a senha ate 20 digitos com “#” finalizando em cada vez. As duas senhas devem ser a mesma. Somente digitos 0 to 9 e "*1" ate "*6" sao aceitos. "*1" a "*6" represents "A" to "F".
• Nota: Na versao corrente, as senhas hexadecimais s somente aceitam 30 ~39 (ex:. ASCII de 0 a 9).
• 8. Se o tom de ocupado for ouvido, a SLID/Password nao foi aceita. Coloque o monofone no gancho e volte ao passo 4.
• 9. Se o tom de discar for ouvido, a SlID/Password foi aceita. Coloque o monofone no gancho para sair do modo de provisionamento da SLID/Password.
• 10. Rebote a ONT
• 11. O procedimento foi completado com sucesso e a ONT pode ser inserida na fibra para ocorrer a insercao automatica na ONT designado no item 1) pelo ZMS ou atraves do comando de linha.
• OBS: Para a insercao do REg ID na ONT, e’ necessario que a ONT tenha um firmware que suporte essa funcao.
