Welcome to Stewardship

Right in the heart of London, our offices offer churches and Christian charities a unique venue for their next

meeting, training day or conference.

Stewardship has a range of rooms available for hire, for between 2 and 55 people.

As part of our mission to strengthen the work of UK churches and Christian charities, we are pleased to offer

our venue spaces free of charge, subject to availability.

Location

In 2014, we relocated to 1 Lamb’s Passage, London, nestled between the City of London and East London’s

Tech City. This ambitious and strategic move has allowed us to provide a space to connect with and train

our ministry partners and makes it easier to be a strong voice to government and our regulators for both

Christian givers and charities alike.

With so many Christian ministries having left London, we wanted to make a working space available to them

in our new office, when they need to be in the city.

Things you need to know

Client commitment and promise

We hope you are made to feel very welcome at our office venue throughout your event. However, please

bear in mind that our venue is a permanent working office for Stewardship staff. For that reason, we have

certain expectations, restrictions and requirements that we ask of venue clients to ensure that the day-to-day

work of our staff members is not disrupted.

Availability

Daytime bookings are available between 9.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am - 3.00pm

on Friday. Evening bookings are available between 5.00pm - 8.30pm (with vacation of the premises by

9.00pm), but are dependent on the availability of a key holder. If you wish to book outside of these times,

please contact us and we will consider your request, although such requests can not be guaranteed.

Bookings of our Conference Room are limited to six hires per organisation, per calendar year.

Stewardship reserves the right to change your meeting room if necessary, but will endeavour to contact

the hirer before doing so. All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that any room will be as suitable

as the original room booked.

Facilities and services

Our receptionist, or another nominated member of staff, will be available to look after your group and

answer any questions which you may have.

Stewardship can provide Wi-Fi access during hires, but cannot provide IT technical assistance.

If you would like to connect to TV displays in all rooms, you must inform us of the type of audio visual

connections you have on your laptop/device prior to your booking.

The hirer and all delegates must provide their own laptop or mobile device. Memory sticks and pen drives

cannot be accommodated.

Stewardship can provide A1 flip chart stands, but flip chart paper and pens must be brought by the hirer.

Care of Stewardship property

During the event, any delegate who wishes to make or take a phone call outside of their designated

meeting room must do so outside the building. The reception area and kitchen seating area is not

available to delegates.

Delegates responsible for setting up the event, particularly those setting up AV equipment, should arrive

at least 15 minutes before the event start time. Delegates who are not involved with setting up will not be

permitted access to our building until 15 minutes before the event start time.

Stewardship does not allow anything to be stuck, nailed, screwed, stapled or fixed in any way to the walls,

doors or any other furniture.

There are residential properties above Stewardship’s offices; please be mindful of this when leaving the

building, particularly in the evenings.

Please be mindful of the volume of any music during presentations and of Skype calls. Singing or the use

of musical instruments must be agreed in advance and may not be permitted.

Security

You are responsible for providing a list of all attendees at least 48 hours before the booking, in case of

emergency evacuation. Full details of the fire evacuation procedures will be provided upon arrival.

Stewardship is unable to accommodate babies or children in our meeting rooms.

For security reasons, only Stewardship staff are permitted to allow someone access to the office via the

main entrance.

You will not be allowed access into our main office, unless invited in person by one of our staff.

You shall indemnify Stewardship from and against all claims, demands, actions, expenses, damages,

penalties or proceedings arising out of, or connected with any loss or theft of or damage to any property

of any person while in the venue or any death or injury which shall occur while any person is in the venue.

In accordance with legislation, no smoking is permitted anywhere within the premises.

Cancellations

Stewardship reserves the right to cancel a booking if the holding of the event is prevented by

circumstances beyond their control. In this case, Stewardship will refund any monies paid in advance.

Stewardship does not accept any liability for losses incurred due to the cancellation of an event.

Statement of Beliefs

We offer our meeting rooms to churches and Christian charities in order to promote our charitable

purpose of advancing the evangelical Christian faith. Any event held in our offices must be lawful and its

content must be consistent with our Statement of Beliefs.

Deposits and charges

Charges for daytime and evening

For daytime room bookings only, we make no charge to the client.

For daytime and evening bookings, we will include tea and coffee making facilities in your room free of

charge.

For evening bookings after 5.00pm, there will be a charge of £25.00 per hour, with a minimum booking

period of one hour. A payment for the total cost of hire will be required at the time of booking.

Catering and dietary needs

Stewardship are happy for clients to arrange their own catering to be delivered to our office location or

for the client to bring their catering with them on the day; please email us if you would like details of

nearby outlets who will deliver to our office. For daytime hires, we do not have kitchen facilities available

to clients and are unable to assist with preparation. We will, however, lay out your food and clear it away

for you and are able to provide plates, glasses and napkins. For evening hires, kitchen facilities can be

made available on request. However, please note that our kitchen area is for food and drink preparation

only and does not include cooking facilities.

Stewardship accepts no liability for food and refreshments provided by clients for their event.

Bookings

All bookings must be made in writing using the booking form at the end of this document. Verbal and

email bookings will be deemed as provisional until a completed booking form is received. Any variation to

a booking must be agreed and confirmed by both parties, in writing.

Provisional bookings will only be held for a period of two weeks. If we do not receive a completed booking

form at the end of this period, the date will be released.
