Međunarodna znanstvena i stručna konferencija Didaktički izazovi II – Je li novo staro? bavi
Jesu li promjene
ovoj konferenciji.
The international conference Didactic Challenges II: Is new the same as old? deals with the
issues concerning education on all levels of education system, exploring mainly the new
curriculum reform and the previous school reforms. Research topics are grouped into three
sections: (Re)construction of educational changes, Essential (in)stability of teaching and
Competences and (in)competency in education.
The aim is to gather scientists and experts who will shed the light on various aspects of modifications
introduced to education system, education policies and classroom practice at all levels of education.
Issues that will be addressed include the following questions: Are changes in education innovative
and sustainable? Are they evident in everyday school experience? Do they anticipate the needs of the
child and young people? Do they promote student and teacher autonomy?
In welchem Maße

Teaching Strategies for Students with Learning Difficulties) autora Yuen, Westwood i Wong
(2004). Dobivena je dvofaktorska struktura, s koeficijentima pouzdanosti Cronbachov alfa 0.72
potrebno osigurati sustavnu podršku stručnog suradnika logopeda u prepoznavanju i radu s
ovim učenicima.
Ključne riječi: individualizacija, inkluzivno obrazovanje, specifične teškoće učenja, nastavne
strategije

TEACHERS' STRATEGIES IN TEACHING STUDENTS WITH SPECIFIC
LEARNING DISABILITIES
Abstract
Pupils with specific learning disabilities (SLDs) show significant difficulties in handling basic
educational skills, despite normal cognitive abilities, so it is necessary to differentiate standard
educational approaches. The goal of this research is to inspect how often teachers in Croatia
use specific educational strategies in teaching SLD pupils and whether significant statistical
differences exist in frequency of use of specific strategies with respect to certain
sociodemographic variables. This research was conducted with 109 primary school teachers
from 12 Croatian Counties. Adapted version of the questionnarie „Teaching Strategies for
Students with Learning Difficulties“ by Yuen, Westwood and Wong, 2004) was used. We
constructed a two-factor survey structure, with reliability coefficients Cronbach α 0.72 – 0.84.
The results have shown that teachers most often ensure additional time for written tasks, give
the pupils additional hands-on help and encourage other pupils to help those with SLDs.
Homeroom teachers, teachers with over five years in service, teachers who during their primary
education took part in a course on educating special educational needs pupils, and those teachers
who have experiences in volunteering with SEN pupils more often use appropriate didactic
procedures when working with SLD pupils. Also more active in applying appropriate strategies
are teachers who have the ability to recognize said difficulties, i.e. they tend to use different
criteria when grading SLD pupils. The results clearly indicate the importance of the education
of teachers to work with students with SLD in the application of individualized procedures in
order to allow every SLD pupil to develop his or her potentials to their fullest. Also, teachers
need systematic support of speech and language therapists in identification and teaching SLD
students.

spezifischen Lernstörungen andere Kriterien an.
