Castrol Aircol PD RangeThis range is based on highly refined mineral oils and an ashless additive system for use in both reciprocating and rotary compressors.

Aircol PD grades are recommended for the lubrication of rotors, bearings and gears in rotary compressors, especially the oil flooded screw type with lubricant drain cycles of up to 2000 hours. They are also used for either normal or severe duty lubrication of reciprocating and rotary drip-feed air compressors.

• Castrol Aircol PD 32/46 are suitable for oil-flooded rotary compressors.

• Castrol Aircol PD 68/100 are suitable for crankcase and cylinders of reciprocating compressors.

• Castrol Aircol PD 150 is suitable for sliding vane compressors or for reciprocating compressors at high ambient temperatures.

Key Benefits:

• Good water separation characteristics allows condensation to readily separate from the oil, minimising the risk of emulsions which could block the oil separator element.

• Fully inhibited against corrosion which enables protection even when operating under humid conditions.

• Good thermal stability, low volatility and low carbon formation reduces the risk of fire and explosion and leads to a longer operating life (up to 2000 hours).

• Low deposit forming tendencies extends oil change intervals and provides longer air filter life contributing to a reduction in maintenance costs.

• Excellent coalescing properties mean little carry over of oil in the air stream.

THE EXPERTS IN COMPRESSOR OILTECHNOLOGYCASTROL OFFERS YOU A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF WORLD-CLASS COMPRESSOR OILS AND PRODUCT SUPPORT SERVICES.

We offer you superior products for rotary screw and reciprocating compressors, ranging from small single units to very large capacity, multi-stage configurations. Depending on the application, these are based on mineral or synthetic fluids.

THE COMPLETE RANGE OF COMPRESSOR OIL SOLUTIONS

Castrol Aircol SR Range

This range of premium lubricants are designed for use in rotary screw compressors and are based on polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids.

Aircol SR is suitable for use in oil flooded rotary screw compressors operating under extreme climatic conditions, harsh environments and severe operating conditions where very high air/oil discharge temperatures are experienced.

• Castrol Aircol SR 46/68 are suitable for rotary screw and flooded rotary screw compressors operating under extreme climatic conditions.

• Castrol Aircol SR 46/68 are also suitable for use in compressor units operating at normal operating conditions, where extended drain intervals are required.

Key Benefits:

• Increased oil service life of typically up to 8000 hours in most systems depending on the operating environment.

• Very low deposit forming tendency which extends the service life of filters and separators.

• Outstanding oxidation stability and antiwear performance providing long lubricant and equipment life.

• Ester-free formulation eliminates the formation of corrosive acids in the presence of water and high temperatures which extends equipment life.

• Excellent water separation characteristics allow condensation to readily separate from the oil, minimising the risk of emulsions which could block the oil separator element.

• PAO based lubricant means good compatibility with seals and mineral oil based lubricants allowing changeover to Aircol SR without compatibility issues.

Castrol Tribol 890 Range

This range of fully synthetic ester based lubricants are formulated for long service life and clean deposit-free operation. They are designed to meet the lubrication needs of the most demanding air compressor applications (as well as many other process gases).

The Tribol 890 range performs better than petroleum oils in flooded rotary vane, screw and reciprocating compressors operating under severe or normal conditions. By minimising varnish and carbon deposits, it can extend drain intervals from 1,000 hours to more than 5,000 hours in most vane compressors. Under normal use flooded screw compressor drain intervals can be extend to well over 8,000 hours.

• Castrol Tribol 890/32 and 890/68 are designed for rotary compressors and vacuum pumps.

• Castrol Tribol 890/100 is designed for reciprocating compressors, vane compressors and vacuum pumps.

Key Benefits:

• Excellent thermal and oxidative stability leads to longer operating life and reduces lubricant costs. Lubricant life can be 4-8 times longer than conventional petroleum oils.

• Natural cleansing action prevents the formation and build-up of varnish, sludge or deposits, which in single or multiple-stage reciprocating compressors leads to the following benefits:

– Prevents valve wear or sticking.

– More efficient recompression and cleaner intercoolers.

– Less heat generation and reduced fire potential.

– Reduced energy input required for constant discharge capacity and overall improved compressor efficiency.

• Low volatility means less oil contamination of plant air, greater demister efficiency, less maintenance of filters and separators and reduced oil consumption.

• Natural oil film strength and lubricity with additional load carrying and antiwear additives provide excellent wear protection and reduce downtime from unscheduled maintenance.
