The injection compression moulded tubs by Coveris are the first lightweight injected tubs on the market, featuring an in-mould label (IML) and achieving material savings of up to 20%. The new, innovative technology used for the injec-tion compression is an energy efficient process, which breaks the down-gauging injection barriers by reducing the injection pressure and decreasing the thickness of the container walls.

Like regular injection moulded packaging, the in-jection compression moulded solutions are char-acterised by freedom of shape, high level of me-chanical properties such as robustness (top load) and safety (tamper evidence). They can be manu-factured on hydraulic, hybrid or fully electric ma-chines, with no compromise on the production speed. Also, when compared to standard injection moulding the lightweight injection compression technology has a positive effect on the tooling life-time in the manufacturing process, thanks to a lower clamping force.

SOPHISTICATED, ATTRACTIVE IML DECORATION

The in-mould labels allow large-scale decoration to be applied right up to the sealing rim, resulting in excellent branding opportunities. The high-quality labels are ideal for top quality printing and pho-to-realistic illustrations.
