List of Solidarit ProjectsThis is a list of Solidarit undertaken by trainees. The activities range from social or sporting activities toserving the disabled and elderly. The activities show you what has been achieved and as an example ofwhat is possible. They need Project Leaders and many have guidelines prepared by past-stagiaires for youto just take over. Sub-Committees can just link their activities to these or other ideas!

Hands-on Volunteer Work

1 Amnesty InternationalWork with local Amnesty International groups supporting human rights awareness and fundraising

2 Article 27mBrussels-based NGO that takes disadvantaged people on cultural outings.

3 AuxiliaVolunteers teach different subjects to disabled, sick or socially excluded people.

4 Baby Sitting

Provide a baby-sitting service for employees of the EU Institutions - connect it to promote a good cause.5 CIR (Coordination et Initiatives pour les Rfugis et les trangers)

Helping an an umbrella organisation for NGOs working with refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants.

6 Cloak Room (Vestiaire)Organise the cloakroom at EU Institution social events to raise money and awareness for those in need.

7 Clothes /Toys/Games/Book CollectionA collection of clothes and/or games and books from EU Institution buildings to give to the poor.

8 ConvivialSupport refugees and asylum seekers in Brussels through friendship and service.

9 Flash VolunteeringGetting together to help on a one-off opportunity to help somewhere, often in times of some urgency Aconservation day in a forest, a play reading in an older people's home.

10 L'OlivierHelp asylum seekers when they first come to Belgium.

11 Le Petit Chteau

Helping asylum seekers and refugees in Brussels. Activities with families and children.

12 Little Sisters of the PoorHands-on community service with the Little Sisters of the Poor older people's home in Brussels.

13 Missionnaires de la Charit:Help provide a meal and friendship for the homeless and people of disadvantaged backgrounds.

14 Notre Dame aux Riches ClairesTeaching computer skills and languages to immigrants.

15 Pag-AsaHelp victims of human trafficking. Material, educational, administrative, emotional support.

16 Serve the CityVolunteering on activities with Serve the City - a movement of volunteers around the world connectingwith local opportunities to serve in our cities.

17 SMES-EuropaSupport a European network of NGOs helping people living in under social and mental healthchallenges.

18 Solidarit Food CollectionA basic food collection: one day, one Commission Building; for the Missionaries of Charity.

19 Sugar and Soap CollectionTeaming up together to simply organise the collection of raw sugar and soap to help those in need.

Awareness Raising Projects

20 Awareness TeamA team whose goals is to raise awareness of Solidarit activities part of the Solidarit Public Relations.Promote, advertise, have an awareness week in Institution Buildings etc.

21 Awareness EventsEvents have raised awareness of children in Belarus and children in Nepal for example.

22 Book Promotion to support development in NepalBooks sold in assistance of the work of a Child Welfare Scheme in Nepal.
