WhileatGeorgetown,BensoncoachedChrisLukezictoaUSATFJuniorNationalChampionship,afourth-placefinishatthe2004U.S.OlympicTrials,arunner-upfinishatthe2005USATFOutdoorChampionshipsaswellasasemifinalistspotatthe2005WorldOutdoorChampionshipsinthe1,500metersinHelsinki,Finland.ShealsoguidedTreniereClementtoarunner-upperformanceatthe2004NCAAOutdoorChampionshipsandledmorethan20athletestoUSATFCCCAAll-AmericahonorsduringherfiveyearswiththeHoyas.

Bensonwasselectedasanassistantwomen’scoachforthe2007U.S.WorldChampionshipteaminOsaka,Japanandasthejuniorwomen’scoachforthe2003U.S.CrossCountryteamthatcapturedtheirhighestfinishinhistoryattheWorldCrossCountryChampionshipsinLusanne,Switzerland.ShehasalsobeenelectedtotheUnitedStatesWomen’sTrackandFieldCoachesAssociationadvisoryboardandwasarepresentativeforUSATFWomen’sHighPerformanceinthemiddledistances.

Leroy Burrell (FormerWorldRecordHolder,100m,HeadCoachUniversityofHoustonTrackandField)LeroyBurrelltwicesettheworldrecordinthe100m.HefirstsettheworldrecordinJune1991withatimeof9.90seconds.ThiswasbrokenthatSeptemberbyCarlLewiswhoran9.86secattheWorldTrackandFieldChampionshipswhereBurrellfinishedsecondinanewpersonalbesttimeof9.88sec.InJuly1994,Burrellsettheworldrecordforthesecondtimewhenheran9.85sec(arecordthatstooduntilthe1996OlympicswhenDonovanBaileyran9.84sec).Burrellwongoldinthe100maheadofCarlLewisatthe1990GoodwillGamesinSeattle.Hewonthesilverinthe100matthe1991WorldChampionships.Atthe1992SummerOlympicsinBarcelona,Burrellfinishedfifthinthe100mandwonarelaygoldaspartoftheU.S.4×100mteam.

Jerry Howarth(Retiredbroadcasterandhighschoolbasketballcoach)JerrymadetheradioboothatExhibitionStadiumandtheRogersCentrehissecondhomefrom1981until2017.Hebroadcastedover7,500ballgames,includingthetwoWorldSeriesChampionshipsin1992and1993fortheTorontoBlueJays.ForhislifetimecontributionstobaseballinCanada,hewashonouredbytheCanadianBaseballHallofFamein2012.HecoachedbasketballatEtobicokeCollegiateInstitutefor20yearsandfiveyearsfortheIslingtonPanthersbasketballclub.
carmyn James (FormerHeadCoachatUniversityofHawaii)CarmynJamesjumpedintohercareerasacoachwhileattheUniversityofBritishColumbia.UpongraduatingwithaMaster’sdegreeinCoachingScience,CarmynwasnamedtheheadcoachoftheUBCMen’s&Women’sThunderbirdsin1988.DuringhertimeinthatpositionshewasnamedCoachoftheYearbytheCanadianInter-UniversityAthleticUnion,wasanIAAFsessionalinstructorandservedastheNationalJumpsCoordinatorforAthleticsCanada.Inaddition,Carmynwasnamedheadcoachofthreenationalteams.Oneofwhichwasforthe1995WorldChampionshipsofAthleticswhereshewasthefirstfemaleinCanadianhistorytoleadanationalseniorteam.In2000CarmynwashiredtoresurrecttheNCAADivisionIWomen’sTrack&FieldProgramattheUniversityofHawaii.Afterinitiatingandfacilitatingtheinstallationofanawardwinningtrackandfieldfacilityshewentontocoachanumberoftopscholar-athletes.MostnotablywereAnnettWichmannandAmberKaufman.AnnettwontheStanBatesAwardforbeingchosenastheTopFemaleScholar-AthleteofallsportsintheWesternAthleticsConference(2009).Shewasaseventimemulti-eventconferencechampionwhohadahighestplacingof4thinthepentathlonattheNCAAIndoorChampionshipand6thintheheptathlonattheNCAAOutdoorChampionship.AmberwontheJoeKearneyAwardforbeingchosenattheMostOutstandingFemaleAthleteofallsportsintheWAC(2010).Sheplaced2ndinthehighjumpattheNCAAIndoorChampionshipandfinished1stattheNCAAOutdoorChampionship.After17yearsoflivingonatropicalisland,CarmynreturnedtoCanadatobeclosertofamily.SheispresentlyanassistantcoachattheUniversityofTorontoworkingwithoneofhermentors,CarlGeorgevski.

MarrajoinedOregonTrackClubElite’scoachingstaffinthesummerof2010.Heservesastheteam’scombined-eventcoach,specificallyworkingwithOTCElitedecathleteAshtonEaton.AnoffertocoachattheUniversityofOregonbroughtlongtimemulti-eventguruHarryMarratoEugeneinthefallof2009.HeservedastheDucks’assistantcoachforboththeindoorandoutdoorseasonsin2010.
