Simply Academy have launched a new, flexible qualification: The Competent Mortgage Adviser Certificate (CMAcert®). This exciting new course develops experience and skills that will be highly useful in your day to day job role.

If you already hold a CeMAP® or equivalent qualification, you are eligible to study for a CMAcert®. This recognised and respected extra qualification demonstrates your ongoing professional development to clients and potential employers.

Through studying the CMAcert® you learn skills that are highly relevant and valuable to the real world of mortgage advice. The certificate is accredited by the National Skills Academy and really boosts your CV.

CMAcert® in summary

• The Competent Mortgage Adviser Certificate (CMAcert®) is a qualification accredited by the National Skills Academy.

• CMAcert® is studied in 5 mandatory units and each unit culminates in a 20 question assessment with a pass mark of 70%. These assessments each contribute to the final certificate.

• Your certificate is issued upon completion of the digital workbook, unit assessments and Unit 6 - The Formal Assessment.

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE

POST QUALIFICATION

Once you have successfully completed all CMAcert® units and assessments, you are awarded full certification. This confirms to clients and potential employers that you have furthered your knowledge and understanding by adding to your CeMAP® qualification.

Through studying and gaining this certificate, you will be better prepared to face real working life problems and handle your own clients. The skills gained will improve your career prospects and marketability.

Once you have completed both CeMAP® and CMAcert® certificates, you then have the option to further your studies with the Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER®).

CMAcert® Unit 1 – Finding Your Client The first unit gives an insight into the importance of continually attracting new clients. It also discusses the impact that regulations have on this initial stage of your advice process. 20 question examination, online digital workbook and case study

Unit 2 – Introduction & Information Gathering Unit 2 emphasises the importance of holding structured appointments with your clients. At this stage you will learn the skills needed to obtain relevant information to inform and support your recommendations. 20 question examination, online digital workbook and case study

Unit 3 – Agreeing Protection Needs This unit explores the key areas of generic protection. It goes on to consider products and how they perform. With this knowledge, you are able to determine how individual products can be utilised to meet the identified needs of specific clients. 20 question examination, online digital workbook and case study

Unit 4 – Mortgage & Protection Recommendations In Unit 4 you develop your skills so that you are able to design and present a recommendation package that addresses your client’s identified mortgage and protection needs. 20 question examination, online digital workbook and case study

Unit 5 – The Sign Up By completing this unit you will have an understanding of the house buying process and the mortgage/protection application form procedures. 20 question examination, online digital workbook and case study

Unit 6 – Formal Assessment By completing the final unit you will gain formal accreditation and your Competent Mortgage Adviser Certificate.
