Competency 004Master Teacher Technology

Ana A. Cavazos

*The Master Technology Teacher knows and applies basic strategies and techniques for using digital video technology.

*Demonstrates knowledge of techniques used in postproduction (e.g., editing and creating control and/or time coded tracks; creating transitions, captions, and titles; applying 2-D and 3-D animation effects).

• Knows how to convert between analog video and digital video.

Competency 4

A final stage in the production of a film or a television program, occurring after the action has been filmed or videotaped and typically involving editing and the addition of soundtracks.

Post Production

Analog and digital signals are used to transmit information, usually through electric signals. In both these technologies, the information, such as any audio or video, is transformed into electric signals.

Analog

Analog and digital signals are used to transmit information, usually through electric signals. In both these technologies, the information, such as any audio or video, is transformed into electric signals.

In digital technology, translation of information is into binary format (zero or one) where each bit is representative of two distinct amplitudes.

Digital

Time-code is an eight-digit code that allows you to specify precise video and audio editing points.

Time coding for the Movie and Sound industries requires tracking hours, minutes, seconds, and frames.

Time Coding

2 Dimensional Refers to objects that are constructed on two planes (X and Y, height and width, row and column, etc.). (Flat Objects) A flat drawing.

2D

3 Dimensional objects are constructed on three planes (X, Y and Z) (Items can be rotated into different views).

3D

The repetition of a single frame of footage over a period of time to give the effect that the action has stopped.

Freeze Frame

Non-linear editing for films and television postproduction is a modern editing method which enables direct access to any frame in a digital video clip, without needing to play or scrub/shuttle through adjacent footage to reach it, as was necessary with historical videotape editing systems.

Non linear Editing

• Non-linear video editing is the process of selecting, arranging images and sound recorded on videotape but the original files are not lost of modified during editing.

Non linear Editing

Linear video editing is a video editing post-production process of selecting, arranging and modifying images and sound in a predetermined, ordered sequence.

Linear Video Editing

The process of replacing old audio with new audio while leaving the video intact

Dubbing

Digital zoom decreasing the angle of view of a digital photographic or video image.

Digital zoom is also cropping an image down to a centered area with the same aspect ratio as the original.

Zoom

An audio mixing technique that fades sound out from one source while fading another source of sound in at the same time.

Cross Fade

FocusFocus is the adjustment for distinct vision ; also : the area that may be seen distinctly or resolved into a clear image.

The animated effects which are placed between photo or video clips.

Transition

This is done in post production stage. Things such as, animted gifs, movement of non objects, or texts to make a dynamic presentation
