Maryland Live! Casino Lunar New Year Festival

February 5, 2016, 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Maryland Live! Casino,

7002 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover, MD.

Festivities will begin with a “Cai Qing” Ceremony, a customary and very visual ceremony featuring the “picking of the greens” by the “Lion” to bless the

New Year and bring prosperity. Following the ceremony, Maryland Live! Casino President will lead the Lion Dancers in a parade across the casino floor, finishing at Rams Head Center Stage. Admission is

free, but attendees must be Live! Rewards Card members. The festival will include traditional

musical and dance performances, a martial arts demonstration, traditional name painting and

specialty dishes offered at LUK FU restaurant (menu available through Feb. 22).

Chinese New Year Festival - Falls Church

February 6, 2016, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Luther Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA.

The event, hosted by the Asian Community Service Center, offers performances from China, Korea,

India, Thailand, Vietnam, among others including the beautiful Chinese sword dance; Dragon Parade, fashion show, Asian plant art, Asian foods, Chinese

cooking demo, teaching of Chinese characters, crafts, kids activities and more.

Arlington, VA. The parade celebrates Fat Tuesday.

Tuesday, February 9th is the date for the 17th Annual Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade… and our

First-Ever Mardi Gras Ball! Our parade starts at 7pm and is the largest in the DC area–we are expecting more

than 30 entrants this year. The parade runs on Wilson Blvd from N. Barton St. to N. Irving St. The Mardi Gras Ball, which will be held from 7-11 pm at the Clarendon

Ballroom is a ticketed event.
