• Significant increases in number of COMPAS Case Reviews completed in 2012 as compared to 2011.

• However, eight counties recorded few or no Case Reviews/Reclassifications completed during the 2nd quarter of 2012.

COMPAS 7 to COMPAS 8

• New York will be transitioning from COMPAS version 7 to version 8 in the coming months.– Minor changes to appearance and features.– Training plan for transition to COMPAS 8 will

be announced in the near future.

COMPASPre-Trial Release Scale Set

• COMPAS 8 will include a revised Pre-Trial Release Scale Set– Developed by Northpointe based on continued

research, and consultation with DCJS research and program personnel,

– Comprised of 14 questions,

– Predictive ability of this new scale will need to be evaluated in New York. 22
