Introduction

Our services include design and project management for the fabrication of pipe components and

(headers/pig traps), pressure testing, pre-commissioning, leak detection, pipeline condition

assessment, commissioning, nitrogen purge, tube inspection, pigging, decommissioning,

cathodic protection.

Ernest Madhlophe: Managing Director

He has been involved in multi million rand projects for both local and international clients. He

boasts about 12 years of experience on projects in pipelines and chemical plants. He has worked

in different positions including Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Functional manager,

and Project Manager. My involvement on projects include the construction of the 26 inch by 865

km MSP pipeline (CP), integrity assessment Natural gas pipelines in Nigeria, integrity pipelines

for Sasol Ethylene pipeline, Natural gas pipeline, Propane pipeline. Other projects include the

GNP project (Sasol), CP audit (Songas, in Tanzania), SCC (Sasol), CP audit (Sasol), NMPP

(Transnet), South Coast Gas Development (Petrosa), Kizomaba C (BP Angola),

CONSTRUCTION OF THE METOLONG DOWNSTREAM CONVEYANCE SYSTEM PROJECT,

48 inch by 84 km North to South carrier (Botswana) and others.

Nathan Shago: Technical Director

He has been involved with maintenance of refineries and pipeline management for about 9 years.

He holds a BEng and BEng Honours degree from the University of Pretoria. His experience

includes serving as a metallurgical engineer at Sasol Synfuels in Secunda, CP monitoring and

upgrade for a 16” x 204 km natural Gas Pipeline for Songas, and various hydro tests on water

pipelines.

2. BBBEE CONTRIBUTION • The company is a level 1 BBBEE contributor

• We are 100% black owned by two previously disadvantaged black individuals

MABRO has in-house qualified Project Managers, precommissioning engineers, Test engineers,

Metallurgical engineers, Pipeline supervisors, Mechanics, DCVG surveyors, Cathodic protection

(CP) technicians, etc.

MBILI Engineering

MBILI engineering was founded by Mr Zweni Masilela in 2007. Mr Masilela has been a

professional engineer, specialising on pipelines for more than twenty years. Together with Mbili

Engineering we are able to offer design for cathodic protecting and maintenance manuals for

pipelines and storage tanks.

TRECOIL Srl

With Trecoil we are able to offer pipeline inspection services including pipeline geometry, pipeline

features, intelligent pigging which includes metal loss and general corrosion.

With Trecoil; MABRO is also able to serve the European and Middle Mast countries.

North to South Carrier pipeline, Botswana

Government of Botswana Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources

AN EPC contract awarded to CWJV which was a joint venture between WBHO CCC for the design

and construction of the 48 inch by 84 km of water pipeline. The project also included the design

and construction of a reservoir.

PNG-LNG EPC5A ONSHORE PIPELINES

The project included Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Pre-commissioning of a

pipeline system comprising of two main sections. In the south of the project: 58 kilometres of 32"

diameter and 25 kilometres of 34" pipeline sections between Kutubu and Omati landfall including

a swamp portion of approximately 10 km at Omati. In the North of the project: 101 kilometres of

32’’ and 104 kilometres of 8" pipeline sections, mainly in virgin territory with no existing

infrastructure ; 9 kilometres pipeline sections from 2’’ to 22” ; 12 kilometres of 10’’ pipeline section

between oilfields of Kutubu & Gobe and the LNG pipeline.

26” X 127 KM ROMPCO PIPELINE IN MOZAMBIQUE

The Construction of a 26 inch diameter underground coated steel pipe line 127 km long. The pipe

line will be next to (10m away to the eastern side of) the existing 26 inch diameter pipeline from

Temane to Secunda. The pipe line ties in at the Central Processing Facility (CPF) at Temane and

at the first scraper trap station STS1 about 127km to the south.

CONSTRUCTION OF 26” NATURAL GAS ALL WELDED STEEL PIPELINE BETWEEN

SECUNDA REQUEST FOR QUOTATION RFQ 994/100 Works Information AND

SASOLBURG

The project entailed the installation of a 26 inch gas pipeline transporting natural gas from

Secunda to Sasolburg for the expansion of the existing Gauteng network. The pipe material is

API5L Grade X52 with varying wall thicknesses as indicated on the alignment sheets. The majority

of the wall thickness is 9mm with sections of 10.7mm and 16.1mm. The pipeline is designed

according to ASME B31.8 with a design pressure of 70barg.

16” CP Anode Groundbed Replacement for Engine Refinery

Project Scope

• Survey and design of 2 anode groundbeds complete with one (1) new potential control

TRU at SAFOR; complete with Coupons and reference electrodes.

• Energising and completion of SAT works for the (2) new Anode Groundbed installations

on ENGEN 16” crude line CP System.

• Commissioning and balancing of the entire ENGEN Crude line servitude CP system.

• Decommission and disconnection the old redundant anode ground bed.

• As a minimum a pipe-to-soil potential survey shall be carried out along the entire

ENGEN Crude Pipeline route taking into consideration the necessary IR Drop effects

ECDA Surveys on Rand Water’s NB 1600 B6 and B10 Pipelines

MABRO conducted a DCVG survey, Pipe to soil potentials, and soil resistivity of the B6 and B10

pipeline which is owned by Rand Water. The pipeline has an outside diameter of 1600 mm and

is externally coated with fusion bonded epoxy. The pipeline runs parallel to another Rand water

Pipeline, B10, for the stretch that was surveyed.
