I ndustrial Dimensions Contracting Co (IDC) is a Saudi based company that specializes in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) building services. IDC strives to deliver the highest standards of MEP installation, carefully paying attention to each of its client’s requirements and ideas, collaborating in the development of the right scope of work in order to develop a unique approach towards each customer. Our scope of work includes all aspects of building services design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of multi-service installations, Electrical, (Medium voltage, Law Voltage and Low current systems)., HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing and Sanitary Works, Instrumentation, Telecommunication and fire Detection/Protection System. In a relatively short span of time, we completed a great number of projects and we continue to work on even more upcoming projects that vary in complexity, size and value. And regardless of the size, we commit all we have to every project we work on. IDC was established and forms a part of the highly respected Ali Khudair Harbi Group.

INTRODUCTION

We consider each Client’s specific project commercial viability requirements, analyze all engineering design and construction management phase of projects and perform value engineering by : Eliminating unnecessary systems with high life-cycle costs. Generating alternatives to secure essential functions at the greatest worth without sacrificing important project components such as safety functionality, quality and environment compliance. Though Value Engineering is most effective when implemented during project conceptualization, we also conduct formal value engineering at any stage of system life cycle as per client requirements ensuring added value from preconstruction through post-construction stages of the project. Our qualified engineers and technical experts provide sustainable designs and other value additions to the overall Project design requirements. We also support implementing effective mechanical systems. Especially, HVAC, Car park Ventilation Systems etc. as per internationally accepted Industry standards such as NFPA and ASHRAE.

MEP VALUE ENGINEERING

All our projects go through pre-construction, construction and post-construction phases. During the Preconstruction phase, IDC Engineering team will gather as much information as possible. This enables us to better understand the design criteria and the intended building system performance requirements. With that in mind we are better able to use our experience to recommend potential cost savings and performance enhancements. In our approach to provide pre-construction services, we involve partnering, teamwork, coordination and integration of the Owner, Design Team and Construction Manager through communication at weekly meetings. Weekly team meetings empower the team to all be on the same page, supporting each other and pulling in the same direction.

Post Construction & Commissioning is the process of testing the performance of equipment and systems to determine their capability to meet performance requirements as defined in the specifications prepared by the designer based on a detailed testing & commissioning plan which also will be followed by the submission of as-built drawings, operation manuals and spare part list. Examples of the longer-term benefits that can be provided by IDC commissioning program are: Reduction in energy consumption and

operating costs over the life of a facility as a result of operations staff understanding the capabilities of the systems which are part of the facility, and the conditions under which they function most efficiently.
