Overview: Surteqa S.P.C., formerly Surtech International Limited – Qatar, is a surveying consultancy based in Doha. We provide “Specialised Surveying Solutions” to Clients primarily in the Real Estate, Construction, Oil & Gas and Mining industries. Our Doha Office was opened early in 2006. Our Surveying services include:

Topographic – contour surveys, earthworks volume computation, 3D Digital Terrain Modelling, infrastructure mapping, underground services detection;

Engineering and Construction – setting out for buildings, infrastructure, roads, railways, process plants, power lines, pipelines, as-built drawings;

Cadastral - marking of land parcel boundaries to General Survey Office Specifications and Requirements; pipeline and power line corridors;

GPS Geodetic Control - Precise control surveys, project datum and reference systems, establishment of GPS Base Stations; transform data from local grid to national or project datum, advice on survey control and mapping requirements for the various stages of project development;

CAPABILITY STATEMENT

The information below provides an overview of our Company, Surteqa S.P.C., formerly Surtech

International Limited - Qatar, substantiating our capabilities and expertise to competently execute

assignments to industry acceptable standards.

Surteqa is Registered as a Class A Surveying Consultancy by the Ministry of Municipality and Urban

Planning Professional Engineering Committee.

Based in Doha, State of Qatar, we provide “Specialised Surveying Solutions” to Clients primarily in

the Engineering Consultancy, Construction, Real Estate, and the Oil & Gas industries. Projects have

been undertaken throughout the GCC including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen and Qatar.

In 2005 we established as a separate Company with our Qatari Partner Mr Adel Al-Darwish. In February

2006 we commenced a permanent presence in Qatar from where we provide our Services to the Gulf

Region. In 2011 Mr Al Darwish acquired 100% of the shareholding of Surteqa.

Surveyors are registered as Class 1 Survey Engineers.

3.0 SURVEYING SERVICES

Surteqa undertakes the following types of surveys:

1. Topographic:

Digital terrain modeling using conventional total stations, kinematic GPS data acquisition

techniques. Production of computer generated contour and detail drawings for the design

of infrastructure, factories, commercial buildings, resort and real estate developments.

Computer generated 3D visualization of digital terrain models to assist Engineers,

Architects and Planners in the design of infrastructure, construction, resort and real estate

projects.

2. GPS Geodetic Control:

Precise control surveys for project development, photogrammetric and ALS mapping.

Spatial control for gravity and magnetometer surveys.

Rationalization, integration and resolution of project datum and reference systems.

3. Engineering/Construction: Survey of infrastructure facilities, roads, railways, overland conveyors, process plants,

power transmission lines and oil/gas pipelines.

Route location surveys & earthworks design of transport facilities for feasibility studies

through to final design and construction stages.

4. 3D Laser Scanning (3DLS) & BIM:

3D Laser Scanning is a revolutionary surveying technique that employs reflected laser beams

to create dimensionally accurate as-built 3D digital models of existing structures. Surteqa is

the first Surveying Company to import and base a High Speed 3D Laser Scanner permanently

in Qatar. Laser Scanning is a highly proven technology highly suited to construction BIM and

petrochemical industries, especially for refit/revamp/upgrade/critical tie-in positioning,

whether onshore or offshore platforms, and provides:

Existing Condition As-built and BIM surveys using 3D Laser Scanners,

Generation of consolidated 3D Point Cloud Databases,

Clash Checking/Reporting between Design Model and As-built Survey;

Development of CAD ready As-built 3D digital models from 3D Laser Scanning Data.

5. Cadastral:

Establishment and marking of land parcel boundaries and contract of work boundaries.

Boundary definition of land acquisition for compensation purposes.

Strata Title and Lease surveys and preparation of plans for lodgment at the Ministry of

Municipality and Urban Planning General Survey Department.

Transforming data from local grid to project grid or Qatar National Grid.

Advise on survey control and mapping requirements for the various stages of project

6. Hydrographic:

Mapping of seabed in coastal areas and rivers including tide and current measurements.

Bathymetric surveys for marinas, port developments, oil/gas platforms, offshore pipeline

and cable routes, and navigational hazard mapping.

7. Dimensional Control (DC):

Use of specialist surveyors, precise surveying instruments and purpose-written software to

accurately measure existing flanges and pipe routes for hook-up and replacements:

Accurate tie-point coordinates to raised face of flange,

Flange angulations in two planes, Bolt hole rotations from vertical or grid,

Red line mark-ups of design drawings,

Check fabricated spools in workshop before shipping to ensure compliance with design,.

Reduce/eliminate field welds.

All surveying work is carried out to established and internationally accepted surveying standards and is

backed up by our Integrated Management System (IMS) and training programs.

3D LASER SCANNING With the current demand for quick turnaround to modify and upgrade existing production and process facilities, accurate as-built information is more vital than ever before. High speed 3D Laser Scanning is a widely used and proven technique for as-built surveys. It is more accurate, much quicker, and delivers far better and more complete results with greater precision than traditional manual measuring. A continuous laser beam takes very closely spaced XYZ measurements over the visible surfaces of the target structures. When viewed on the computer screen this appears as a cloud-like image of the structure, which is known as a “point cloud”.

Large field of view simultaneously captures overhead detail without the use of special scaffolding e.g.: pipe work, equipment, structure, cranes, etc. This greatly reduces the safety risks as surveyors are not exposing themselves by working from potentially dangerous elevated scaffold or ladders. 3D LASER SCAN DELIVERABLES To fully utilise the results obtained from 3D Laser Scanning, the data can be delivered in 3 main formats: 3D POINT CLOUD: Quickly delivered shortly after completion of the field survey, the results from numerous scans, from 2 to many 100’s, can be consolidated into a single 3D Point Cloud database. Suitably experienced designers can work directly in their design environment using the point cloud as a “legacy data” background.

3D CAD MODELS: We have our own in-house 3D Modelling capability based in our Doha office. Using Z+F LFM Modeller and Server software our crew of experienced drafter/modellers convert the 3D Laser Scan images into Virtual Reality 3D CAD models, which can be imported into any of the major CAD systems that you use. 3D CAD Models enable your engineers and designers, from all disciplines, to fully examine complex as-built structures, with completeness far surpassing anything previously possible. Vast quantities of high integrity digital data are readily available.
