ALDAR Properties (ALDAR) is engaged in the development, construction, management and operationof hotels, schools, marinas and golf courses. The company operates in the UAE.

The company operates through six business segments: property development and sales, investmentproperties portfolio, construction, hotels, schools, operative villages, and leisure.

ALDAR's property development and sales segment operates through the company's wholly-ownedsubsidiaries: ALDAR Commercial Property Developments LLC, Addar Real Estate Services LLC,Al Raha Infrastructure Company LLC, and Lulu Island for project development. The company'sproperty developments projects include Yas Island, Al Raha Gardens, HQ, Al Gurm Resort, AlMamoura, Motor World, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Mayan, Baniyas Towers, North Park and AlRaha Beach.

The company's investment properties portfolio segment holds a portion of completed developmentsas investment properties.

HISTORY

ALDAR Properties (ALDAR) was incorporated in 2005.

In 2006, the company awarded the contract for the construction of the road network to service AlRaha Gardens and the surrounding areas, to Abu Dhabi General Transport Company (GTC).

In the same year, ALDAR and Laing O'Rourke, the leading international construction group, formeda joint venture to deliver ALDAR Properties' Al Raha Beach projects in the UAE. The new companywas known as ALDAR Laing O'Rourke JV and it became a registered company in Abu Dhabi.

ALDAR signed an exclusive development contract with Movenpick Hotels & Resorts for developmentof three luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi in 2007. In the same year, the company and Al Maabar launchedAbu Dhabi Plaza in Astana. Also in the same year, ALDAR opened the first official Ferrari Store inthe Middle East region managed by a joint venture company between Al Fahim Enterprises andALDAR Properties.

In 2008, the company signed an exclusive development agreement with The Ritz-Carlton HotelsCompany which will result in the development of a number of luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi to bemanaged by The Ritz-Carlton. In the same year, ALDAR signed an agreement with MovenpickHotels & Resorts for the operation of an upscale resort hotel in the Al Seef precinct on the highlyanticipated and sought after Al Raha Beach development.

The company's subsidiary, Al Raha Gardens Property LLC, formed a Joint Venture Company withNational Catering Company, one of the leading catering and related support services companies inthe Arabian Gulf region, in 2009. In the same year, ALDAR signed an agreement with Al-Futtaim tobuild the largest IKEA store in the MENA region in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

In 2010, ALDAR officially inaugurated Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world's first Ferrari theme park,in Yas Island.

The company selected the Viceroy Hotel Group to operate the Yas Hotel in Yas Island in 2011. Inthe same year, ALDAR Academies, a subsidiary of the company, launched two new schools in AbuDhabi and one in Al Ain.

Also in 2011, ALDAR announced that Six Construct had been awarded the main construction contractfor Yas Mall, a major retail development on Yas Island, one of the Emirate's leading leisure andentertainment destinations.

In 2013, the company merged with Sorouh Real Estate PJSC for its business expansion.

In April 2014, the company launched three major new residential developments in prime areas ofAbu Dhabi, including investment zones where property can be purchased by non-UAE nationals.

The company appointed Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak as the Chief Executive Officer in July 2014.In the same month, ALDAR partners with Chalhoub Group to create a unique new shoppingexperience at Yas Mall.

In August 2014, ALDAR signed a bulk deal to lease 607 apartments to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabito provide accommodation for the hospital’s employees.

The company appointed Talal Al Dhiyebi as the Chief Development Officer in February, 2015.
