COMPANY INFORMATION

Detection Design is a well

respected Company operating in

the fire detection and gas

suppression industry. We were

established in 2004 and have

continued to grow each year. We

specialise in the Design,

Installation and Maintenance of

Fire Detection and Gas Suppression

Systems. Our Technicians are highly

skilled and undergo continuous

training to keep updated with the

latest trends and revised SANS

codes of practice.

Detection Design are members of the

FDIA (Fire Detection Installers

Association). All of our staff are

registered with SAQCC-Fire.

In 2012, the Department of Labour

issued a mandate for all personnel

working in the Fire Detection and

Gas Suppression industry to become registered. This essentially means no

person will be allowed to work on any system unless they are registered

with SAQCC-FIRE.

All work conducted by Detection Design is done according to the guidelines

set out in SANS 10139, as well as all relevant SANS codes of practice

relating to all the GAS Suppression installations.

Senior staff members are registered with SAQCC-Fire as system designers.

All systems are designer according to SANS 10139 as well as SANS 10400.

Each design is conducted according to the clients specifications and

requirements, bearing in mind the minimum requirements of SANS 10139. Each

Design has its challenges and requirements.

There are many different combinations of systems, as well as many different

applications and equipment types. It is essential that site inspections are

conducted to ensure the correct application for the risk.

all comply to en54 and all relevant local

design specifications.

We offer various types of detection devices

like manually operated call points, optical

smoke detectors, heat detectors, fire beam

detectors, flame detectors and aspirating

smoke detectors.

We offer various kinds of warning devices

like evacuation signs, beacons, sirens, bells

and combination siren beacons. These

warning devices various sizes and have a

wide output range. Depending on the

application and or environment we will be

able to best fit your needs.



The ECKOSHIELD-227 pre-engineered fire

suppression system is SABS (South African Bureau

of Standards) Approved. ECKOSHIELD-227® clean

fire suppression agent is fast and effective with low

space-to-weight characteristics.

The Inergen fire suppression system utilizes

distribution pipe work in the room, ceiling and floor

voids. All pipe work and nozzle placement is

calculated using UL approved Inergen distribution

software

The Stat-X fixed system is an innovative, cost

effective and ecologically safe solution for rapid

fire extinguishing and protection of high value

areas. Our electrically activated generators, when

connected with a fire alarm control panel and fire

detection devices, provide a fire suppression system

that is significantly more cost effective than any

other available technology.



Detection Design offer a consulting service both on

existing systems and also new installations. after

completion of any consultancy work a report is

issued with all findings and recommendation as to

the remedies for compliance to SANS 10139. On new

installations systems will be recommended based on

the information supplied by the client as to their

specifications and environmental needs.

Maintenance

All fire detection and gas suppression system

maintenance is conducted in accordance with SANS

10139 and all relevant SANS codes of practice for

the various gas systems. All gas systems should be

inspected on a quarterly basis and fire detection

systems on a bi-annual basis.

All fire detection and gas suppression installations

conducted by us is done according to SANS 10139.

Before any installation takes place, a design

specification is put together to ensure that all

areas of concern are met to the clients

specifications and that it meets the minimum

requirements of SANS 10139 and the building

regulations of SANS 10400. Once the installation is

complete, a full test of the system is conducted with

the client to ensure that they are happy with the

system design. All documentation of the installation

is supplied to the client with site drawings,

operation instructions, user manuals and

recommended maintenance intervals
