Here are some basic training tips.
Resume 101
Your resume must be perfect. No typos or you will be disqualified.
Distinguish if a position was full-time, part-time, freelance, or volunteer work.
Don’t exaggerate your accomplishments.
Include the month with your date of graduation.
Interviewing 101
Research a company prior to interview.
Be on time. Map out your route ahead of time.
Verify who you will be meeting with ahead of time. Confirm correct spelling of names and titles.
Bring extra resumes and samples.
Create a leave behind for the hiring manager.
E.g. Marketing plan, creative sample, competitive analysis
Interviewing 101
Ask good questions.
Who, what, where, when and why.
Engage in dialogue.
Do not play with things on the interviewer’s desk.
Be a reflection of the company’s business in dress and presentation.

Do not appear too casual or cocky. You may come across too arrogant. Express a positive interest in the position.
Demonstrate your fit for the job. Avoid generalities. Cite specific examples of accomplishments.
Be courteous and pleasant.
Send a thank you letter within 24 hours to reiterate your interest in the position.
Networking 101
Practice makes perfect.
Show an interest in in the people you meet.
Do not concentrate on what doors they can open for you.
Pay it forward. Help others. Good will come out of it.
Actively engage within professional associations.

Read industry news.
Keep up on latest technology tools, social media and trends.
Know your key strengths.
