Description of Services: Provides education and training classes about child and spouse abuse
prevention, safety education for children and pre-deployment briefings for Soldiers and their
family members. Annual classes are mandatory for all military personnel on the dynamics of
child and spouse abuse, the availability of treatment services and the Army’s policies regarding
family violence. The FAP manager may provide crisis intervention to Soldiers and Family
members in emergency situations. Cases involving family violence intervention needing long-
term treatment and follow-ups are referred to Social Work Services.

Description of services: Special Victims Counsel (SVC) if you are the victim of sexual assault
you may be entitled to a free SVC. The SVC will answer all questions you have about
investigations and the legal process, including filing a restricted or unrestricted report. An SVC
can accompany you at interviews, legal proceedings, and assist you with many other legal

Description of services: Social work counseling is available for the following situations: parents
of seriously ill children, pregnant teenage girls, single active duty women, and women
contemplating abortion, patients with illnesses or injuries that call for adjustments in their own
lifestyle or in the Family’s lifestyle; patients with long-term illness; patients undergoing major
surgery; information on nursing homes; adoption referral; marital problems; emotional distress;
spouse and child abuse/neglect concerns; sleep hygiene, stress management, support of Families
before and after deployments; provide briefings on various deployments issues to Families and
units; relaxation techniques; and marital counseling. Other services include Anger management,
Parenting Group, Parenting Seminar, Communication Class; and Youth Awareness Seminar.
