I am extremely pleased you are thinking about a career in family medicine and are considering the UAMS Northeast Regional Campus for your specialty training. I take great pride in my specialty, which provides total care for the individual and family.
This program offers a residency experience in which to develop attitudes and skills that prepare our graduates for the challenges of health care throughout their career. Our program is implemented through a series of supervised block rotations in other specialty areas with primary focus on practical clinic experience and continuity of care in the UAMS Northeast Family Practice Clinic.

Where did Arkansas get its name?
The word “Arkansas” was derived by French
explorers from the Native American name
for the tribe now known as Quapaw (or
Arkansaw). They called them “Ugakhpah” which means “the people who live
downstream.” After the pronunciation was slightly changed (or mispronounced) by
the French explorers, the spelling and
