Breishis 24:50 ....and they said" it was the hand of HaShem"

R Yosef Dov Soleveitchik of Brisk (1820 - 1892 ) the author of the

Beis HaLevi was one of the greatest Torah scholars in Europe.

He traveled extensively throughout Europe. During these trips he would

often stay at the homes of families in the community. On one such occa-

sion his sudden appearance in the home of a family where he was plan-

ning to spend the night, caused the young daughter of the family to be-

come frightened and she began to cry. Rav Yosef Dov turned towards her

and you too will have guests staying in your home!" Many years passed,

and the son of Rav Yosef Dov was ready to get married. The Rebbetsin

went on a journey to look for a shidduch for her son. Precisely at that time

when she was gone, the mother of the child who had burst into tears

Chanukah Halachic Bulletin

Mishne Brure “al hanisim” is added in shemone esrei before “v’al kulam”

Aruch HaShulchan the correct text is “v’al hanisim”

In bentching it is added before “v’al hakol…” If skipped, it may be said if you have not yet said shem HaShem in the next brocho. If totally forgotten it may be said after shemone esrei or in the HaRachaman section of the bentching.

It is not said in the “brocho m’ain shalosh.”If he did say it in “m’ain shalosh” it is not a hefsek.
