The group gathers at the St. Charles Library every other Monday night from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. The first part of each gathering is a general presentation on a topic related to unemployment, such as dealing with personal and family stress, resume-writing, interviewing skills, financial management, career skills assessment, networking, and automating the search process. The second part of the program provides an opportunity for direct networking and interpersonal support. Fox Valley Special Recreation Association is an extension of the Fox Valley, Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, Sugar Grove, and Oswegoland Park Districts, which provides a diverse range of year round recreational activities to enable residents with disabilities to experience active, healthy and playful lifestyles. Programs are designed to include opportunities that will enhance skill development and socialization, encourage self-awareness and community exploration, promote independence through personal choice of least restrictive environments, and provide a sense of enjoyment, satisfaction and fulfillment.
