We will ensure the work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience. The Suncor Burrard Products Terminal is planning to perform regular inspections and maintenance on its flare stack structure. This work will begin on August 29 and is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete. The flare is used as a safety device and is located in the northeast section of the Upper Terminal processing area. The work will involve inspection and measurements of the steel structure. Minor repairs at various locations during the inspections may also be completed. For the duration of the project, neighbours may notice extra area safety lighting and welding flashes. No heavy construction equipment is anticipated to be used to complete the maintenance activities, however the grass will be mowed and any scrub vegetation removed from the flare structure area prior to the work. Work is planned for both daytime and nighttime to minimize the duration. Night work will be restricted to quieter activities. The Suncor Burrard Products Terminal is situated on 430 acres of land of which 175 acres are used for terminal operations. The Upper Terminal, located in Port Moody, contains the fuel processing units, main tank farm and the fuel blending facilities. The Middle Terminal is located on the south side of the Barnet Highway in Burnaby. It contains the secondary tank farm and truck facilities. The Lower Terminal is located in Burnaby, Port Moody and along the Burrard Inlet. It contains the marine and rail facilities. Gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethanol, and bio-diesel arrive at the Terminal via pipeline, marine tankers, trucks and rail.
