Randolph Street Community Garden Introduction: Welcome to the Randolph Street Community Garden Program. We are glad that you want to join us. Organic Gardening: The Randolph Street Community Garden is an organic garden. The use of synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilizers is not permitted. Things that are permitted include: insecticidal soap, Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis tenebrionis), diatomaceous earth, Miracle Grow Common Areas: Every plot worker must help with the common areas, the walk ways, and unplanted area between the beds. Put down a barrier (news paper, burlap, etc.) and cover with mulch from the large pile in the center of the garden. Pick up trash because we do not have a trash service. Please dispose of all trash outside of the garden. Put organic materials in the compost bins. Maintenance of Plots: For weed control, do not allow the weeds in your plot to grow taller than 12 inches or allowed to go to seed. End of Season When closing your garden, please clear your plot of any structures, strings, plastic, plant debris, and any large growing plants by November 15th. Clearing your plot at the end of the season will greatly assist in the opening of the garden for the following gardening season.
