With its rich history, diverse neighborhoods, and legacy of arts, culture and education, Boston has something for everyone! The Community Bankers Association of Georgia (CBA) invites you, your senior staff and directors to join us in what is perhaps the most patriotic city in the U.S. for the 49th Annual

Meeting and Trade Show, September 13-17, at The Westin Copley Place.

There are many things to explore and enjoy in Boston – walking tours, museums, galleries, shopping, dining, theaters, sports, farmers markets and more! And, the city’s history is incredible…did you know Boston’s Revere Beach was the country’s first public beach? Boston Common, established in 1634, is the country’s oldest public park and still a popular gathering place. Fenway Park is the oldest original Major League Baseball stadium still in use. The first Thanksgiving in the U.S. was celebrated in Boston. Boston is home to the first college in North America – Harvard was founded in 1636. The list goes on…you’ll just have to explore and learn for yourself!

So, join us in Boston, learn its history, walk the Freedom Trail, taste the cuisine, absorb the art…however you plan to enjoy it, we welcome you to be with us…where everybody knows your name! Two Chances to Win $1,000 in Cash

Must Be Present to Win!

Again this year, CBA is pleased to announce two informative, as well as rewarding, presentations. Two companies will present their own 7-Minute Spotlight during the General Session - one on Friday and one on Saturday. Be sure to be in the General Session. Simply enjoy the presentation, complete an entry form, and a drawing for $1,000 will be held immediately after the presentation. You have 1,000 reasons to attend and pay attention! You must be in the General Session for the entire time! Good luck!

CBA’s Lifetime Service Award recognizes bankers who have reached a milestone of 30, 40 or 50 years of service to the banking industry and who have been heavily involved in their community. The Association is extremely appreciative of these individuals who have served as a role model to the banking community. In addition to being recognized at the Chairman’s Banquet on Saturday night, honorees will receive a plaque and be featured in various CBA publications. Honorees with 50 years of service receive a customized gold and diamond pin.

If you or someone in your bank is celebrating a milestone, please let the CBA know by August 1, 2017. Email Peake Wilson at [email protected] for more information.

Join us for this two-hour walking tour of Boston’s North End (aka “Little Italy”) and learn the secrets of Italian cuisine and its high-quality ingredients. Let Michele Topor guide you on her original award-winning North End Market Tour as she helps you discover all the pleasures of this culinary experience in America’s oldest Italian community. You will also enjoy the colorful sights, the tantalizing aromas and authentic tastes of America’s most vibrant Italian neighborhood. $40 per participant / limited space so register today! Boston is a walking city…don’t forget your walking shoes!

One of the most popular activities at the Annual Meeting & Trade Show, the Silent Auction is your chance to purchase sports tickets, memorabilia, gift cards, restaurant packages, vacation getaways, jewelry, novelty and one-of-a-kind items. The Live Auction was so popular last year, we’re bringing it back this year – what a fun way to end the first evening in the Exhibit Hall!

Your participation in the Silent & Live Auctions will help raise funds for the CBA Political Action Committee (PAC) and Public Relations (PR) funds. The CBA maintains the only state PAC working exclusively for Georgia’s community banks.

RAY DAVIS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, UMPQUA BANK, PORTLAND, ORFRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH

Few banks in the country have undergone as thorough a transformation as Umpqua Bank has under former Chief Executive Officer Ray Davis. When Davis took the helm at what was then South Umpqua State Bank in 1994, it had just $140 million of assets and five branches in southwest Oregon. Davis established Umpqua as one of the industry’s most admired brands.

Umpqua has won numerous accolades and awards for customer satisfaction over the years and is so highly regarded by its peers that bankers from all over the world — New England, China, Australia — regularly travel to Portland to study its approach. Many of the trends in retail banking these days — from open floor plans to the universal banker model — can be traced to ideas pioneered by Umpqua.
