How it assists How well it assists

e.g. Skate park It gives young people a place to go and an activity to do to keep them occupied. They are being active and having fun whilst hanging out with their friends. This may help them to stay out of trouble because they are active.

Skate parks do a good job in keeping young people from being bored, which is when they are more likely to get into trouble.

It is a place where they are able to socialize and spend time with friends, minimising boredom.

However, students may truant school to hang out there, graffiti and can be a place where trouble makers hang out.

Conflict – young people cause trouble because they are bored.
