Owner Kenny Nguyendescribes it as “a full-service,upscale salon and spa, offering thelatest and greatest in facial treat-ments, massage therapy, spa pack-ages, waxing and hair services,including the new and excitingfusion extensions.”

Before moving to Fort Wayne,the Vietnam native received hiscosmetology training in Atlanta. In1993 he opened Cali Nails inSouthgate Plaza, where heremained many years before open-ing Cali Nails on Dupont Roadnear Lima Road.

Although both locations retainthe name, they are not affiliatedwith Cali Spa, which opened inFebruary 2012.

“Every time we move, we getlarger and upgrade our services,”Nguyen said.

The castle-like building servescustomers on two levels, with aspecial first-floor treatment area.The second level is dedicated tohair styling. Because the space isso large, Nguyen said, they oftenaccommodate groups of friends orbridal parties, who receive a 10percent discount.

In addition, he added, services

are consistent and location con-venient, and they offer extendedhours seven days a week.

Aesthetician Megan Myers,who has been onboard since dayone, is one of 40 employees. Myerssaid some customers have beenwith them 15 or 20 years.

“This is a very nice environ-ment,” Myers said. “Our goal is to

make sure each customer has agood experience, and we do what-ever we can to make that happen.”

The hottest trend is gel/shellacnail polish, Myers said; customerswill receive a $5 discount on theservice Monday throughWednesday each week.

Nguyen said he’s currentlyseeking hair stylists, and is offer-ing special pricing on booth rental.

“I’d like to thank all the cus-tomers who voted for us,” he said.“We plan to remain here for manyyears. We look forward to servingcurrent clientele and meeting newones to offer them the wonderfulexperience they deserve.”
