You may not know the Greek words for our different fears, so use the template to write down things that can be phobias and things that can’t be phobias. For example, could you be afraid of lions? Yes, so you’ll write “lions” under “Phobias.” Could you be afraid of ice cream? No, so you’ll write “ice cream” under “Not phobias.” After you’ve finished writing, you’ll discuss why each thing is or is not a phobia. o-phi-di-o-pho-bi-a ag-o-ra-pho-bi-a cy-no-pho-bi-a as-tra-pho-bi-a claus-tro-pho-bi-a my-so-pho-bi-a try-pan-o-pho-bi-a ophidiophobia = fear of snakes agoraphobia = fear of crowded spaces cynophobia = fear of dogs astraphobia = fear of thunder and lightning claustrophobia = fear of small spaces mysophobia = fear of germs trypanophobia = fear of needles COMMON PHOBIAS STOP AND THINK Learn about some common phobias with long names that can be hard to pronounce.
