CCGPS Overview
Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS)
Intended to provide clear and organized expectations for instruction
“How good is good enough”
Organized into different grade bands: 9-10, and 11-12
These standards are organized for teachers to define what students should understand, and what they will be able to do by the end of each grade band
High school students will be able to incorporate textual evidence in literary analysis and technical research
Student writing will reflect on arguing effectively, include rhetoric, and evidence to support persuasive texts
