BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION OF TOPIC: In accordance with policy and certification

requirements, the Sheriff’s Office is required to conduct both pre-employment tests as well as fit-for-

duty examinations for the agency. Under this contract, Amanecer Psychological Services will perform

these examinations in compliance with state, federal and agency requirements as specified using certified

and/or licensed testing methods recognized and endorsed by the profession.

The RFP issued in 2010 authorized and awarded the bid to Amanecer Psychological Services to provide

psychological services for employment related purposes at the Sheriff’s Office. The term of the original

contract was for a 2-year period with the ability to renew the contract for up to two additional one-year

renewal terms. This amendment is the First Amendment to the Amanecer Psychological Services

contract which will authorize renewal of the contract for one additional one-year term from August 1,

2013 through July 31, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Costs are dependent on utilization not to exceed $47,433.50. There is no cost increase for the extension

of the contract. History:

2012 = $5,000

There is no increased budgetary impact.

COUNTY OF EL PASO ) RENEWAL OF SERVICES AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF EL PASO, TEXAS AND AMANECER PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

On the 18th day of July, 2011, the County of El Paso, a subdivision of the State of Texas, on behalf of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (hereafter “County”), and Rodolfo Basurto, Ph.D, Amanecer Psychological Services, PC, (hereinafter “CONTRACTOR”) entered into an Agreement to conduct both pre-employment tests as well as fit-for-duty examinations for El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (Contract number 2010-0504, attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes). The Parties now desire to renew the Agreement effective July 18, 2011 as follows: Pursuant to ARTICLE VIII of the Agreement, the parties agree to extend the term of this Agreement for a period of 12 months, from August 1, 2013 to July 31, 2014. This renewal is effective on August 1, 2013, regardless of its date of execution. The Agreement may be renewed by the Parties for an additional one (1) year term. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement to remain in full force and effect.
