Family and friends are not permitted in the area where the students gather. Due to the Ford Field security process, all participants must be escorted on and off the main floor. ATTIRE: All graduates will wear the black traditional gown. Phi Theta Kappa graduates may wear their stoles. COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION:
ANNOUNCEMENTS:Ten (10) announcement/invitations per graduate
may be picked up when purchasing your cap
and gown, at no cost. Family and friends are
not required to have an invitation to attend.
CLASS RINGSFor information regarding class rings,
please contact Jostens at (800) 854-7464
or visit their website at www.jostens.com.
CAP AND GOWNSAll graduates must wear caps and gowns during
the Commencement Ceremony. Caps and gowns
may be purchased after May 1st at any WCCCD
bookstore. The caps and gowns cost approximately
$36.00 (price subject to change) and are keepsakes.
SENIOR PHOTOSPhotographs can serve as a lasting memory of
your graduation and are nice to share with family
and friends. Check our website at www.wcccd.edu for
more information as well as signage at your campus.
HONORS CEREMONYStudents graduating with honors will receive
notification from the Vice Chancellor of Student Services
via postal mail. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday,
June 3, 2020 at the Heinz C. Prechter Educational and
Performing Arts Center at the Downriver Campus.
2020 SPECIALRECOGNITION AWARDS
Those graduating students who meet
the requirements/qualifications set by
the Special Recognition Awards
Committee and maintain an overall
3.5 GPA and above are eligible
to apply for the award. This is
a competitive award and the
winners will be notified by mail.
The recipients will be presented
at the Commencement Ceremony.
The presentation of the Special
Recognition Awards is a very
important aspect of Commencement.
