COMMUNICATION PLANNING

STEP 1Figure out your overall communication objectives; What do you want to communicate and why?

Record your objectives in a planning template

STEP 2Identify and list all your different types of audiences

It would be best to use Stakeholder Analysis; to help you identify who to communicate with and why

Stakeholder Analysis

STEP 3List out all your communication objectives and make clear specific objects for each audience

List all the objectives for each audience in your plan

STEP 4

List all your possible communication channels

Try and create some new ones that you dont currently use

STEP 5To being planning for each audience, list out all the largest audience groups first

Several messages over a period of time may be needed to meet the purpose of each audience

(Axero Solutions, 2016)

STEP 6Prospects need to see your message seven times before they buy- a common saying in marketing (Mindtools.com, 2016)

Once you are satisfied you have thoroughly thought out each audience and each of their objectives; send out your communication

STEP 7Monitor the communications effectiveness

Seek feedback on the communication plan you have created and implemented

Ask people from your different audiences how the plan is going. Is it working? Yes/No

By seeking proper feedback, you can modify any future communication you have planned to enhance peoples needs or fill any gaps
