Summer Camp Description Camp at The Honor Roll School offers fun-filled summer programs for children ages 6-14. Each week, campers jump into action, participating in exciting sports programs, exploring nature, becoming involved in performing and creative arts, playing a part in group activities, and attending special events. Our campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons during the summer, embarking on new adventures, and having fun! Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors. A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Camp counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Camp at The Honor Roll School gives you choices. Camp includes five days of activities, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. You can choose to add extended hours and specialty camps to your menu of summer fun. We offer a range of outdoor activities, plus indoor activities conducted in our fully air conditioned facility. Our specialty camps are optional programs, operating during regular camp hours, which provide even more choices for unique and exciting adventures.

Activity Blocks

BLOCK 2 Drama-The Musical Campers learn basic knowledge of acting techniques and stage movement to develop their imagination, creativity and confidence.

BLOCK 3 Iron “Camp” Chef Campers will practice a variety of kitchen skills and use their creativity, while getting messy, and eating delicious foods!

BLOCK 4 Science Gurus Practical and fun experimentation and project building send campers home with enthusiasm and the knowledge required to take the sciences further as hobbies.

BLOCK 5 Urban Designers Draw. Decorate. Design. Campers will explore a multitude of design challenges, including interior design, architectural design and fashion design.

Each week campers will engage in unique activity blocks that offer relevant, meaningful experiences that allow them to construct new knowledge while connecting to previous knowledge. Activities provide an opportunity for campers to engage, explore and make sense of the natural world through inquiry and project-based learning.

BLOCK 7 Color Wars Campers are divided into teams, each of which is assigned a color. The teams compete against each other in challenges and events to earn points.

BLOCK 8 Lego-Inspired Engineering Dream it. Build it. Wreck it. Repeat! Campers build elaborate objects, structures and vehicles, while they explore fundamental principles of engineering and physics.

BLOCK 9 Citizenship & Friendship Brigade Campers will find creative ways to give back, while learning about how they can make a difference, strengthening their character and friendships along the way.

BLOCK 10 Games Galore Come be part of a summer camp that continues to emphasize a vast exposure to a variety of sports and games.

BLOCK 11 Artist Studio Draw it! Paint it! Sculpt it! There is no right or wrong when it comes to making art. Use your creativity to express your inner artist.

BLOCK 1 Photography: A portable studioCampers are immersed in the art and craft of still photography, and are introduced to the tools necessary to capture great images and refine them through digital imaging.

BLOCK 12 Technology Stop With an emphasis on creativity, exploration, and friendship, campers discover new tech skills in an energetic, kid-friendly learning environment.

BLOCK 6 Time Travelers Through the Decades Come explore the Roaring 20’s, Fabulous 50’s, and Excellent 80’s. We will travel through each decade and study important inventions, as well as historical milestones.

Field Trips & On Campus Activities All Campers The Honor Roll School Camp Adventure features a unique selection of indoor and outdoor activities and field trips that take advantage of resources in the local area.

Our summer campers have the opportunity to expand their horizons, embark on new adventures, and have fun. Our exceptional program and dedicated staff create an environment that forges lifelong friendships among our campers. We create a summer experience that is unforgettable! Camp activities include sports & games, creative arts, arts & crafts, science & cooking, songs & skits, field trips, group activities, special guests water play and/or swimming.

In the traditional program, each day, the campers participate in 4 Activity Blocks (see page 3). Activity Blocks are different every day of the week.

Highlights In addition to our traditional Dolphin Summer Camp, THRS is excited to offer a "Highlight" option for your child.

By selecting a "Highlight", your child will have two sessions per day dedicated to their "Highlight." The additional 2 blocks will come from the Activity Blocks on page 3.

Choice 1: STEM Highlight Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - Oh my! Problem Solving and Inventing are what this Highlight is all about! Choice 2: Sports Highlight Play ball! This Highlight is designed for you to learn new sports and build up sportsmanship skills.

Choice 3: Arts and Crafts Highlight From painting to sketching and knitting to acting, spend the summer creating and performing in fabulous works of art!

Youth Digital Get your Geek-On with Youth Digital this summer at THRS! Choose a Minecraft Mod Design Camp using Java or an App Design Camp creating a personalized game for an Apple or Android device. Grades 4th -8th. School day. Includes lunch. $ per week.

Writer’s Ink Ignite your passion for writing in this week long camp! Receive personalized instruction to hone skills in academic and creative writing. Grades 3rd – 8th. Half day. Half day (no lunch): $375 per week (student must be picked up after session ends each day) or Full day (including lunch and 2 activity blocks): $ per week.

High School Test Prep Intense Academic Camp to prepare Middle Schoolers for taking a variety of High School Entrance Exams. School day. Includes lunch. $350 per week.

High Voltage Rock Music Camp Are you ready to rock? Whether you are a seasoned musician or have never picked up an instrument - this camp is sure to make you a hit! Grades 3rd and up. School day. Includes lunch. $499 per week.

Middle School Scholars Intense Academic Camp focusing on ELA, Science and Math as well as study and organization skills. For grades 5th – 8th . School Day. Includes lunch. $350 per week

Summer Reading Book Talk Review and discuss 5th – 8th grade summer reading assignments through a variety of different activities. Half day. Half day (no lunch): $275 per week (student must be picked up after session ends each day) or Full day (including lunch and 2 activity blocks): $ per week.

Robotics Learn the programs and skills of various robotics programs. 4th and up. School Day. Includes lunch. $350 per week

Science Fair Boot Camp – Part 1 and Part 2 (Must sign up for both parts) Get a head start on next year’s science fair project in this half day camp where students learn the process of designing and executing a winning science fair project. 5th – 8th grades. Half day. Half day (no lunch): $550 for 2 weeks (parts 1 & 2) (student must be picked up after session ends each day) or Full day (including lunch and 2 activity blocks): $ for 2 weeks.

Looking for something before or after camp hours? In addition to our Extended Day Program, there are lots of choices -- Creative Writing, Painting, Soccer, Basketball -- and many more! Hours are 7:00 - 9:00 am and 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Must have at least 10 students enrolled for a session to run. Additional fees apply.

Summer Bridge Focus on improving reading and writing skills in this workshop with Mr. Tom designed for students in grades 1 – 4.

Payment Policy: A deposit equal to your tuition is required at time of enrollment to hold your reservation. The deposit will be applied to your campers final week of camp.
