Research Aim – H2S Removal
• Biological desulphurization
• Isolation of SOB (sulphur oxidizing bacteria) from activated sludge
• Effect of operating parameters such as air to biogas ratio, flow rate,
gas retention time will be studied in a biofilter lab scale reactor
• Elimination capacity, loading rate, removal efficiency for the scale up
of reactor will be determined
The main reaction involved:
H2S + ½ O2 Sº + H2O
Research Aim – CO2 Removal
• The main reaction principle involved:
• Lab scale reactor for efficient CO2 removal using bottom ash
• Parameters – CO2 pressure, ash humidity, Temperature and L/S
ratio will be studied and optimized
The main principle involved:
1) CO2 + H2O H2CO3
2) H2CO3 + Ca(OH)2 CaCO3 + 2H2O
Combination and Optimization of both process –
