Church News Pastor Nathan’s Retirement Pastor Nathan has submitted his letter of retirement, which was emailed to the entire congregation yesterday. Pastor Brad’s Sabbatical Report Pastor Brad has returned from his sabbatical and is excited to share with you all he learned and experienced. Pr. Brad preached on April 6 and 7, sharing some of these things, but he has also written a report for you to read. The first three pages are a sum-mary and the following pages are his specific experiences at individual churches. Feel free to talk to Pr. Members of St. Philip may make a mission grant request for projects or activities that have a specific purpose and intended measurable result or impact. The grant requests
cannot be used for church operating expenses or programs that are normally funded by the St. Philip budget. Join Us For Easter Brunch! The Men of St. Philip will be serving Easter brunch April 21 from 7:30 to 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.
The menu will include: French toast, homemade berry syrup, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, ham, green chili, fruit, coffee, and juice. A freewill offering will be taken.

Bryan Chuan Solo Recital Our highly talented organist/accompanist Bryan Chuan is pursuing his doctorate in pi-ano performance at CU Boulder. He will present a program titled Transcendental Reflections featuring classical selections on organ and piano here at St. Philip on April 27 at 7pm. Refreshments will be served following the performance. . We Walk Because They Walk: Foothills Crop Hunger Walk Sunday, May 5 Clement Park, Shelter Q Help end hunger one step at a time. This is the 50
th anniversary of the Crop Hunger
Walk. Stop by the table in the narthex, pick up a donation envelope, give your own gift, then begin recruiting your friends and neighbors to donate. Then walk on Sunday, May 5. Registration for the walk begins at 1:00pm, and the walk begins at 1:30pm (both 5K and short route). You can also set up an online fundraising page to reach more people. Events LFS Annual Gala – Seasons of Celebration Lutheran Family Services is holding its annual gala on Friday, April 26 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. Tickets are $50 a person. Lutheran Fam-ily Services Rocky Mountains is a faith-based, non-profit human service agency helping children and families during their most challenging times. They have been committed to serving all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, or age since 1948. If you are in-terested in attending the gala, contact Pastor Brad. Augustana Arts Join us for the season finale concert of Stratus Chamber Orchestra featuring Beetho-ven’s Symphony #9 on April 26 – 27, 7:30pm at Augustana Lutheran Church (5000 E. Alameda Ave.). Colorado’s Queen of Soul, Hazel Miller and her band, will also join Stratus for a few of Hazel’s hand-picked favorites, along with a rousing performance of Nessun Dorma. This is followed by Beethoven’s Symphony #9, that includes the great Ode to Joy performed in collaboration with the Colorado Women’s and Men’s Cho-rales. Theater & Theology Sweat is a Putlizer Prize-winning drama in which layoffs and a cheaper workforce threaten a local union as the threads that once kept a community together begin to un-ravel. This play will be presented on May 14 at 6:30pm in the Space Theater at the Den-ver Center for Performing Arts complex, followed by a talk-back led by Pastor Bollman. The Beauty of Our Lord will be performed on Sunday, May 19 at 2 venues. The first will be at 3:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church, 700 S. Franklin, Denver. Our second concert will be at 7:30 pm at Concordia Lutheran Church, 13371 W Alameda Pkwy, Lakewood.
This concert will be a collection of familiar songs and a few new songs praising our God and country.

Prayers for Columbine and all of the Denver area as we approach the 20th anniversary of Columbine. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who continue to be affected by the events 20 years ago, as well as all of the other violence in our world. We pray for peace, we pray for safety for all who serve our community, and all who struggle with mental illness.
Prayers for our prayer partner congregations, Abiding Hope and Christ Lutheran.
