Meet your 2011-12 PresidentJill Jones

I have been an active member of ASSE beginning as a Student Member in 1999/2000. I have since served as Secretary, Treasurer elect and Treasurer, twice, Vice President, President –elect and now as Your President. Thank you for your continued support of both the chapter and myself.Prior to getting into the safety field I had been a Firefighter in Southern California until I “hurt” myself. I worked in the office training fitness to firefighters still out in the field while healing from two separate surgeries. Unfortunately, I was medically retired from the Department due to my injury. I had no idea what to do next until moving here where I heard about the Mt. Hood Safety/Health and Environmental Science program. It turned out to be GREAT fit for me. I fell into the Construction side of Safety from my involvement with ASSE. Since then I have been trying to give back to this wonderful organization that has kept me employed throughout my career. I enjoy the friendships that I have made being involved in the Columbia Willamette Chapter of ASSE. Networking is one of the most important things that you can do to promote /sell yourself in your profession and this chapter has been warm and inviting in that area.
