Invitation: We are excited to invite you to a very special alumni homecoming weekend this year. We want you to enjoy the events that will highlight the past, the present and the future of this school we all love so dearly. Come be part of the experience. This building project will only happen once, and you can be part of the historical groundbreaking event. Besides the Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new administration building and all the extra features planned for that momentous occasion, we will also honor the classes of 1908, 1918, 1928, 1933, 1938, 1948, 1958, 1968, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1998 and 2008. Don’t miss out! Plan to be on campus April 4 & 5.
Building Update: In February, all the contracts for our new administration building construction were signed by CAA; our general contractor, Erwin Construction; the Oregon Conference; and the North Pacific Union Conference. All the necessary permits and paperwork are in order and construction preparations have begun on campus. The first stages of work are underway and we will soon have our new building. If all goes according to plan, the Class of 2010 will spend their entire senior year in the new facility. Continued on Next Page...

CAA Principal, Gary Brown, received this email from Alumnus Kevin Ford (Class of 2006) in February:
Dear Gary, I attended a Walla Walla University Engineering Dinner tonight and three students were recognized for their achievements while attending WWU. Two of the three were CAA graduates. Chase Hendrickson (Class of 2004)
was one of two who were selected as a "team" and were distinguished for their accomplishments, while Peter
McNabb (Class of 2002) was awarded "the Engineer of the Year." I realize that neither of these guys were at CAA while you've been there, but I just thought that the staff and students would like to know that there are very successful
people that come out of CAA. As I recall, both Chase and Peter were active and involved in extracurricular things at CAA and not much has changed. I thought I'd pass along that tidbit of encouragement. Keep it up! Have a good day. Kevin Ford
The CAA Athletic Department is hosting our
14th Annual Golf Tournament.
July 20, 2008 Lewis River Golf Course - Woodland, Washington.
This event is the primary fundraiser for our athletic programs. It pays for uniforms, transportation, officials and lowers student fees.
Running an athletic program is expensive and we appreciate your support.
If you are interested in playing in the tournament, sponsoring part of it, or donating items from your business that we can use as prizes,
please contact Jay Pierce, CAA Athletic Director at (360) 687-3161 or [email protected].
Thanks for your support!

The current project underway is to decommission the old boiler system and the old steam tunnels. Most, if not all of you, probably remember this system, since it was in place when you were a student, as well. Our favorite quote around here is, “We keep the worms warm in the winter, but not our students.” You can probably relate. The good news is that this will finally be only a memory. The new heating system that is currently being installed will provide individual heating for each building on campus. From there we will move on to actual groundbreaking and the foundation. As you have heard, we are still working on the Alumni Challenge to help finish funding for this new building. Each decade is being asked to match the $75,000 raised by the Class of 2004 for the new building. Watch for more information on that to come, as well. Check our website periodically for updates. We hope to have a live webcam installed in the next couple of months, so you can watch the construction progress from your own computer. Stay tuned for that! See you at Alumni Weekend!
