College Vocal Soloists Regulations 1. Division definition – A vocal soloist will consist of one performer with accompaniment of no more than 8 people. 2. Date of performance – Friday, February 28 3. Eligibility – Students enrolled for spring semester 2020 are eligible to perform. Any semi-professional may enter in the Open Division. If necessary, non-students may accompany a college vocal soloist; however, accompanists may not sing. 4. Classification structure – Classification is based on the type of school performing and the musicians in the group: a. College/University b. Community College c. Open Division: i. Any group that consists of, or includes, non-students in the performance. ii. Soloists should only enter in the open Division if the soloist is a non-student or semi-professional, not the rhythm section. iii. The Open Division is a non-competitive track. Ensembles in this division will not be eligible to perform in the evening concert. d. The same group of individuals may not enter in two different classifications. 5. Equipment provided - performance sites: a. Music stands (8) b. Guitar and bass amps c. Drum set (bass, bass pedal, snare, two rack toms, floor tom, hi-hat, crash, ride) i. Cymbals not provided in warm up rooms. d. Piano or Keyboard e. You may use your own equipment, but your time limit must be observed. 6. Reminder – Equipment not provided a. Auxiliary percussion b.
