General admission procedure:

1. Admission to B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, M.Sc.(Ag.) and Ph.D. program is done

through a competitive entrance examination, which is conducted by the one of

the State Agricultural University of Rajasthan for Rajasthan State Domicile

Candidates and ICAR, New Delhi for Indian origin. Online application has to

be submitted to the organizing university or ICAR, New Delhi, whenever

requisitioned through a notification. 20 Seats in UG programme are also filled

on basis of marks of XII class.

2. Admission of in-service candidate of Swami Keshwananad Agricultural

University, Bikaner will be done according to the existing rules of the University.

3. ADMISSION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS:

i. Foreign students are normally admitted under the category of ICAR nominee

or through a bilateral arrangement with the University, if any.

ii. No self financing foreign student will be given admission. They shall be

supported either by Govt. of India, International Organization and / or their

respective Government and approved by Govt. of India (ICAR, Department of

Agriculture).

iii. Foreign students must have a valid passport and visa before they can be given

admission.

vi. They must get themselves registered with the police (C.I.D.) within a

fortnight of their arrival at the campus.

vii. They should also register with the Foreign Students Advisor/ Warden of

International hostel in the University.

viii. All foreign students must get themselves medically checked by the nearest

Civil Surgeon/ Surgeon/Supdt. of District Hospital at their own expenses and

the certificate in a particular Performa available from the concerned college

be submitted before they can be admitted.

ix. All foreign students (fresh or returning from abroad) must get themselves

screened for the AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) at their own

cost and submit screening certificate from an authorized Medical Officer

before they can be considered for admission to any class.

x. If the student is found unfit due to any disease other than AIDS, he/she shall

be declared temporarily unfit and can continue studies subject to University

regulations. A student with confirmed AIDS disease will have to return to

his/her country.

Course requirements for post graduate programs (M.Sc. (Ag.) & Ph.D.)

Students admitted to a post-graduate programme have to complete a minimum

requirement of courses as prescribed for the programme. The academic session from July

to June is divided into two semesters of approximately 17 weeks of teaching inclusive of

time taken for final semester examination.

1. Advisory system

Every student shall have a major adviser who shall be from the student's major field of

study. The programme of study of the student will be chalked out by the major adviser and

the advisory committee after taking into account the student's previous academic

attainments as per rules.

2. Program of study 1. Every student admitted to post-graduate program shall be required to

complete the following requirements successfully

1. Residential Requirement 2. Course Programme 3. Comprehensive / Preliminary Exam and 4. Thesis

2. Attendance Requirements.

A student shall be required to maintain a minimum of 75 per cent attendance

from the date of registration in each course to appear in final semester exam.

En-mass absence from the classes shall not be ignored while counting the

attendance for the semester.

Students who are deputed by the college / university authorities to represent

the college/university in approved co-curricular activities e.g. Republic day

parades, education, tours, games and sports etc. at college / district / state /

Inter-University/national level, will be given the credit of attendance to the

extent of the number of lectures delivered during the period devoted towards

the journey and participation in connection with the aforesaid activities. The

total periods of such absence from college shall not exceed 8 days in a

semester.

Prospectus

The application forms can be obtained from the website (www.chscraubikaner.org),

personally from the counter or by post by sending a bank demand draft from a

Nationalized Bank for Rs. 1500/- for Gen/OBC/BC/ST Candidates and for SC Rs. 750/-

drawn in favor of the Dean, College of Home Science, SKRAU, Bikaner. The candidate

should carefully study the admission rules and make sure that he/she fulfills the prescribed

qualifications.

Mode of Admission

Counseling/interview(s)

All the candidates selected for admission to UG and PG programmes will be required to

complete all the formalities for the admission including the payment of the required fees as

and when they are allotted the seat during the counseling. ICAR listed students are also

given admission.

Registration

A candidate selected for admission shall report to the college on the prescribed date and

pay her fees of admission and get herself registered within the period notified to her. If a

candidate fails to get herself registered with in this period, the Dean under very special

circumstances, subject to the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and also on availability of

seat, register her after realizing the fine as per rules. Students already enrolled in a

programme of study will be required to fill up every year application forms for subsequent

years for registration.

Admission rules for M.B.A. (AB) & Ph.D. (AB) Programs

1) For admission to MBA (Agri Business):

Indian Nationals below 30 years of age and possessing Bachelor's degree in

Agriculture or Allied fields (Horticulture / Vet. & Animal Science / Dairy Science /

Dairy Technology / Food Science / Food Technology / Agricultural Engineering /

Agri Business/ Agro Forestry / Home Science / Fisheries, etc.) will be considered

eligible for admission to the programme. There is no age bar for in service

candidates for MBA(AB).

The degree should be from any University or Institution recognized by ICAR/UGC

with a minimum of 60 per cent marks (55 % for SC / ST/OBC) or equivalent in

terms of OGPA.

Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in all India level entrance

test recognized by the institute.

Admission process will be followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal

Interview (PI) conducted by the institute. Merit list shall be prepared by giving

weightage as 30, 10, 10, 20, 30 on CAT/MAT/CMAT (entrance test) score, 10th, 12th

, GD & PI respectively. Minimum qualifying marks shall be fifty percent in GD & PI,

separately.

2) For admission to PhD (Agri Business):

For Ph.D. (Agri Business) by course work programme, a candidate must possess a

Master’s degree in Agribusiness Management/ Business Administration/ equivalent

programme with at least 6.5/10.00 OGPA or equivalent percentage from recognized

institute/university. MSc (Ag.) or allied subjects with five years of work experience

will also be eligible for admission.

All eligible candidates have to appear for written examination followed by Group

Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Minimum qualifying marks shall be

fifty percent in GD & PI, separately. Merit list shall be prepared by giving weightage

as 50, 10, 15, 10, and 15 on written test, Graduation, Post Graduation, Group

a) Fees once deposited will not be refunded under any circumstances.

b) The programme fee includes the cost of study material, computer use, use of teaching

aids, visit to various agri business houses and participation at seminars/ symposium/

c) The students can register themselves with the Institute within 15 days after the last date of

registration with a late fee @ Rs. 100/- per day, including holidays. No request of late

registration will be entertained after this period.

d) Tuition fee is exempted in case of SC/ST students.

e) It may take a period of 7 days to issue the required certificates after receiving the request

from the students.

f) The students availing hostel facility in the boys hostel for short time (not exceeding three

months) will be charged fee @ Rs. 500 per month and Rs. 50 per day (if stay time is in

days).

g) Miscellaneous fee will be charged as and when required.

h) The fee may be credited through NEFT/RTGS to following account.
