College Credit Plus Option

College Credit Plus (CCP) replaces Ohio’s PostSecondary Enrollment Options program (PSEO) and all alternative dual enrollment programs. The CCP program will be operational for the 201516 school year and beyond. CCP requires two fundamental conditions:

1. Students must be enrolled in both college and high school. 2. Students can earn college and high school credit upon successful completion of the course.

CCP courses must be the same as those offered on campusincluded in the institution of higher education’s (IHE) course catalog. The courses must also be nonremedial and should apply towards a degree or professional certificate. They must also be taught by instructors who meet the Ohio Board of Regent’s academic credential requirements. Students must meet the IHE’s admission requirements to receive credit, such as ACT score, GPA and/or successful completion of a college readiness assessment. Interested students students should contact the guidance office prior to March 31st of the year preceding CCP placement.

Prerequisite: HS Spanish 3 & ACT Score Spanish 4 will be conducted as a dualenrollment class through the University of Akron. The course will run at the same pace and schedule as a college class. Students will work though a culminating review of the Spanish language and its culture completed in the first three years of Spanish. The course places the most emphasis on grammar review, literature, and cultural studies. More emphasis is placed on speaking and past review in Spanish 4, so oral class participation and preparation is essential. The class will be conducted almost entirely in Spanish.
