A COLLECTIVE NOUNS IS A WORD USED TODEFINE A GROUP OF OBJECT, WHERE

OBJECTS CAN BE PEOPLE, ANIMALS,EMOTIONS, INANIMATE THINGS,CONCEPTS OR OTHER THINGS.

EXAMPLE :aprideof lions

pride is a collective nouns.

Identify a collective nouns when you see it inany sentences.

Analyze the noun. If the group is acting as aunit, the noun is Plural; if the group is actingindividually it is Singular.

Use and to join two or more subjects tomake the nouns Plural.

Judge whether the compound subject isreferring to one person or many people.

See if the word what starts the sentence.Clauses and phrases acting as the subjectusually imply a singular verb, unless they startwith the word what.

Learn the topics that are considered singular. Understand when expressions are singular

and when they are plural. If are using thenoun as a unit it will take a singular verb, butif it is indicating separate parts then it uses aplural verb.
