The program will also be offered via video conference at Pali Momi Medical Center in ‘Aiea and Wilcox Medical Center on Kaua‘i. Our family of medical centers provides care for your entire family, from keiki to kupuna. This year’s event is entitled “Cancer Care: Cure Begins with Collaboration,” and will offer information on cancer-related issues that impact the entire community. Topics will include: Prevention and Early Detection – Hear how Hawai‘i Pacific Health and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance are working together to create a healthier Hawai‘i. Discover ways to help prevent cancer with nutrition, exercise and vaccination. Learn about the populations at highest risk for the most common cancer in Hawai’i – breast cancer. Our specialists will also present information on early detection and treatment of lung cancer, which is the No. 1 cancer killer in Hawai’i. Expert Care Team Panels – Participants will be able to engage with our multidisciplinary expert care teams and have a focused discussion on the following cancers: o Breast cancer o Prostate, kidney and bladder cancers o Lung cancer o Colorectal cancer * Wilcox Medical Center will provide a panel of physicians who will speak to all cancer types. Our multidisciplinary approach is tailored to each patient’s needs, and is strengthened by our collaboration with the University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center and our affiliation with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, one of the top 10 cancer hospitals in the nation. We will welcome speakers to provide information related to how these partnerships enhance our ability to care for our community.
