Founded in 1912, École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay (ENS Paris-Saclay) is a leading institution for interdisciplinary graduate education and research. It trains future researchers and faculty members, with an emphasis on fundamental issues connected to practical, industrial, technological, economic and social subjects of interest. Students at ENS Paris-Saclay benefit from personalised tutoring and research-based training that combines theory and practice while encouraging interdisciplinary studies.

The 12 teaching departments and 13 research laboratories offer students the ability to customise their own programme and express their talents.

ENS Paris-Saclay is unique in bringing together a vast array of disciplines which no other higher education institution covers in the same way or at the same level: basic sciences, humanities, social sciences, engineering sciences and design.

Students enrolled at ENS Paris-Saclay are commonly called “Normaliens”.

ENS Paris-Saclay in Cachan1956 - 2019

ENS Paris-Saclay will move to the “Plateau de Saclay” in Summer 2019. The building, under construction, will enable us to join the other prestigious members of Université Paris-Saclay (https://www.universite-paris-saclay.fr/en/university/members).

The settlement is set in September 2019 for the majority of us but is supposed to last until the beginning of 2020 for specific matters such as heavy machines and departments and laboratories’ equipments.

Discipline

The ENS Paris-Saclay Degree is awarded after four years and is equivalent to a master’s degree and 75% of normaliens pursue in doctoral studies.

Normalien students receive individual supervision. Through a continuous dialogue with academic staff, they are actively involved in setting their learning agenda and defining the means to achieve it.
