The Berry Street teaching approach is aimed at helping children deal with stress and trauma in their lives. This is a large commitment, both financially and in time. The program runs for 90 minutes over 12 nights. Training is after school from 3:30—5:00 and begins this week The first 2 week’s sessions will be on the following dates: 10th,11th,12th,16th, 17th and 18th of March. On these days only the teacher who is rostered on for 3:30 yard duty will be available to see after school. If you wish to talk to your child’s teacher please do so between 8:30 - 8:45 in the morning. Brooke is competing in the 10 year girls freestyle event. Transmission Towers Last week Ausnet released their ‘area of increased in- terest for the construction of 85 meter tall transmission towers to bring the electrici- ty that is made by the wind turbines back to Melbourne. The route which they propose to take will come across Bald Hill / Swans Road in Darley and along Cameron’s Road. They will avoid the quarries by using the 50 meter easements that the quarries already have in place along Russell’s Road. The towers will then pass our school and cross over Lake Merrimu in the paddock next to the school as this is the narrowest point of the lake for crossing. School Council is urging everyone in our school communi- ty to make contact with our Members of Parliament asking them to put the power lines under ground and not build such horrible monstrosities on our landscape. A letter of protest, outlining our objections will be written in the com- ing days and circulated so that people can lodge their pro- test easily. The Coimadai Community need your help to put a holt to this outrageous and out dated concept. The school’s State Mem- ber for Parliament is Mary- Anne Thomas. Her contact details are (03) 54282138. Come along and enjoy a free breakfast with your friends. Eating breakfast helps us to concentrate more and stay alert. Eating breakfast helps us maintain a healthy body as it is considered the most important meal of the day.
