What is Cost Of Goods Sold?

Cost of Goods Sold in short COGS indicates how much amounthas been spent to make the Finished Good.

The Cost of Goods Sold Account is used to determine the profit realizedfrom selling a product.

Account Generator Workflow

Oracle EBS uses the Account Generator workflow(a synchronous workflow process) to derive theCost Of Goods Account .

This is usually derived based on specific attributes such asItem, Organization, Order Type, Sales Representative andmany more

The rules for COGS account generation are not always the sameacross companies, and depend on the business rules.

The modified workflow process is not attached to the OECOGSItem Type , or the setup is done for an incorrect Accounting FlexfieldStructureResolution :

Ensure the modified COGS workflow is attached to the OECOGS ItemType for the correct Flexfield structure

Other ErrorsError in the ITS log:

Unable to get account for delivery detail id < nnnnn >orORA-20002: 3136: Item 'OECOGS/< nnnnn >' cannot be accessed

while synchronous process in progress.

There could be numerous causes for this error. The debug log of theITS should provide more information on the exact cause.If the error is due to workflow function/process , output of wfstat.sql ishighly desirable.
