Lucy Tarrant

21 years’ experience of financial and contractual

dispute resolution.

Solicitor

Management team

I trained and qualified in-house with Lloyds TSB Bank, then spent 15 years in private practice.

I was a partner in the Litigation Department of a successful provincial practice, and I knew what it was like to manage a case load, staff, clients and partners. There was never a working day when I didn’t have to juggle time sheets, chargeable hours, business development and partnership demands.

I also knew there had to be another way to manage my career so that I could continue growing as a legal professional but also be around more for my family. I knew I wasn’t alone in this realisation, and joined forces with Stuart to help other legal professionals find an alternative way of working.

Cognitive Law has enabled me to spend more time at home with my family, but also on doing all the other things that working in private practice inhibits. My time is my own, and as I work hard, I reap the benefits.

Stuart Gillespie

25 years creating and growing businesses.

Director

Management team

I’ve spent the last 25 years creating and growing businesses, including one of the largest privately held legal recruitment companies in the UK, G2 Legal.

Through my association with G2 Legal and dealing with people’s careers I noticed that the business model of how law firms manage a solicitors career needed change.

To that end we’ve created a new type of law firm that affords solicitors the ability to earn what they are really worth and free them from all the constraints of working in a traditional law firm. I aim to bring positive change to the profession in the way solicitors manage their time both in and out of work.
